This cake was done in a rush for my husband's suprise party! It is layered with white velvet cake and triple chocolate cake and buttercream. It was fun to do, but would have been better with a little more time- it needed a border around the bottom to hide the imperfections in the fondant!!

My 4 year old and I just finished this. I wanted to make a cake for "us" for a change. I gave her the piping bag and we went crazy. It is a butter cake w/tiny bittersweet ch. chips and whipped bc icing. I wasn't crazy about the BC on it. Hubby loved it.. maybe a different icing next time. Cake was SUPER YUM!!! Emma was proud when I told her I was putting it on the cake website!!!

This taught me to NEVER take short cuts! As per the styrofoam dummy you can plainly see. Arrggg. I will be doing a do over.I originally wanted to do red roses around each tier (think I still will) that would've disguised the dummy. I thought the chocolate was going to be taller. Oh well. Lesson learned. Good thing it was only for photo purposes!~

This cake was one that Nicholas Lodge taught. I loved making this cake. It taught me a lot. Sorry it's not really clear. For some reason it gets blurry when I put on this site.

This cake was the first stacked cake I ever made. I made if for my cousin's wedding the night before the wedding. She procratinated like crazy! It has navy blue ribbon and white pearls on it.
I spent 20 hours on my feet making the cake and trying to smooth the heck out of the buttercream. She insisted she could get a cheaper deal on the cake ingredients and ended up buying the wrong products, the night before the wedding! Never again will I do another family-member's wedding cake>

This is the third tier of my Alice in Wonderland cake. The mad hatter, the march hare, and the white rabbit are all out of gumpaste. The table is a gumpaste cloth draiped over a plastic lid fused to a 3" pillar. The chairs had to be pretty strong becuase the characters aren't the lightest bunch..so I made support beams with bamboo sticks and florist tape, and then covered them with gum paste.

I made this for my sister-in-law to be who's birthday is on the Fourth of July. The bottom layer is white with a lemon filling, covered in whitefondant with red stars. The middle layer is chocolate with a vanilla filling covered with buttercream frosting and rw&b M&M's. Top layer is yellow with chocolate filling, with butter cream frosting, and cut-out white and red fondant stars. I was up until 3 am making this, but I loved every minute of it!

This is my many first attempts cake. First time w/ MMF, first time w/ topsy-turvy cake, first w/ 2 tier cake, first w/ marbling fondant. The bottom tier is rice crispy, it would have been too much cake if I had did them both cake. The top tier is half yellow butter and half butter pecan w/ cream cheese filling and crumb icing. All accents are MMF as well as cake covering on both tiers. I am not very happy w/ the cake. I couldn't get the draping yellow MMF edge to be smooth. Appreciate any tips and advice.

The plaque is made of GP with the lettering piped on in Royal icing. The tiers are covered in MMF, as well as the cake board. This was my second time using MMF. It tastes alot better than purchased fondant, but I'm still not convinced in the texture, workability department. Guess I need more experience with making it.

I did this to test techniques and recipes. Groom approved it. Bride picked out design but wanted it to be surprise for the wedding. So I did this design for the test cake.

Inside it was butter recipe cake with strawberry whipped cream filling inbetween the 4 layers, then frosted with buttercream then layered with fondant.

I had black die all over my hands and clothes from this. lol White fondant for the ribbon.

Everyone loved the cake itself but the fondant was strange to many people.
