This is taken from a Wendy Kromer design. a dummy cake made for a bridal expo this weekend, 12 inch base, 9 inch middle and 6 inch top, covered in fondant and handpiped black royal icing details. the thin ribbons are attached to the fondant by wetting them and then just placing them on, very easy.

This is a cake dummy decorated for a Bridal Expo that i attended today with franjmc and koko4min.
Covered in fondant with satin ribbons and hand made orchids. This was my first time making orchids, i actually made these for a wedding cake where the bride changed her mind and then had cherry blossoms so I had these in a box and decided to use them for the expo.

I made this awhile ago. It was my course 1 final cake. Even though it was one of my first I really liked the way it turned out.

My dad's birthday is July 4, but we had a small party (like, 5 of us LOL) today - I think he was pretty floored. Everything is done in MMF, I had to run the stars straight up on the top tier because I had major problems with it cracking. I airbrushed some of the stars with a mix of lustre dust and vodka (although not sure I recommend it as it clogs a little). The large MMF stars that said Happy Birthday Dad, well, one busted on the way to the house so I skipped them - shows detail better though. :)

I made this saturday, july 1st for my moms 25th anniversary. It was an honor for me to do this. It took three days. I baked all day Thursday, frosteded all day Friday and set up all morning on Saturday. Two layers are chocolate, one yellow, the middle is yellow filled with strawberry and the bottem is filled with pineapple ( my signiture filling). The top cake is a 12", next is a 16" and the bottom was 4 - 10" to = 20 x 20. The side cakes were an 8" on top of a 12". Icing is buttercream.

This was very last minute - DH told his mother I'd make one for their party on Saturday - WITHOUT asking me first!? (Our house is a construction zone right now) grrrrrrr Anyway - I went ahead and did it, with some suggestions from a few of you here and on another board. Left half is chocolate sour cream cc's, right half is red velvet - cream cheese icing all over. This went really quickly and I think I'm now hooked on these little ccc's! Thanks for looking!

What a pain in the keister this cake was. I used the whimsical bakehouse house buttercream, which waaaay too soft. It also doesn't crust, and I just couldn't get the icing smooth for anything. My star cornelli and flowers are off kilter. It's a white cake torted into 4 layers with raspberry filling, every other layer is white or blue. The party I'm making it for has been cancelled, so I guess DH gets to bring it to work. I need a new icing recipe!

Sugar cookies with buttercream frosting. I prefer royal for cookies, but didn't have meringue powder. They still turned out ok, but not as polished looking.

This was my first stacked cake, and my final cake for Wilton Class 3. I had to freeze it and thaw it out for the 4th and the fondant and buttercream sagged a bit, definatly a learning cake!

This is (2) 12 x 18 sheetcakes - torted & filled. One is 7UP lemon cake w/ a lemon lime curd & the other is a chocolate root-beer cake with root-beer flavored buttercream. The "confetti" are little stars - and the shells on the edge are red, white, & blue striped using Wilton's "bag striping" technique w/ Americolors.

My friend April and I made this yesterday - combination 4th of July and Anniversary for my parents. French vanilla cake iced in cream cheese buttercream, blueberry filling on the bottom layers and strawberry filling on the top layers. All decorations are MMF, and the topper is a seasonal decoration that I use on my table.

Here's my first Fourth of July cake (7"-10"). It's cream cheese buttercream with fondant stars, stripes, ruffles, and flag. The flag is dusted with super gold luster dust. I put red and blue crumbs and luster dust on the white icing behind the flag to give the appearance of a fireworks celebration.

Black ribbon accents the tiers of this buttercream wedding cake. The black scrollwork matches the train of her wedding gown. They loved the faux fondant look of the buttercream!

18-14-10-6 inch, multi-flavored, from scratch cakes. Some with fresh strawberry/buttercream filling that tasted like strawberry ice cream! All white buttercream roses, leaves, boarders, and frosting. It looked fantastic on my new silver cake stand and the cake table was decorated to kill. The best set-up I've ever had for a cake!

This is my second attemp at MMF. I was happy with the outcome although there are some definate areas for improvement. The cake was chocolate with a buttercream crumb coating and mmf exterior. The top has silk flowers on it. The bottom trim is buttercream also. It was a big hit. Its only thank to the support and advice from everyone on this site that I was able to pull this off. Thanks everyone!

This is a full sheet cake made for the employees at the Regional Medical Center that had to work on the evening of the 4th of July. I tried to make sure they didn't miss out on all of the fireworks. I got lots of great compliments on the cake.
