This was my first fondant cake. I used gum paste for the roses, daisies, and leaves. I used Royal icing on everything else except the blue covering. (The pocket are fondant.) You can't see it very well, but I put alot of little royal icing flowers all the way around the bottom of the cake. This cake looked yummy, but it wasn't really. I'm not real sure what went wrong, lol. At least it looked cute! I got this idea from some one else's wedding cake. :)

I'm proud of myself on this one because I figured out how to sculpt a half-way decent horsie! For a little boy's western-themed party. Got the bandana idea from here on CC. Buttercream with fondant figures/items.

The cowboy hat is a chocolate cake baked in the oval pans and covered with BC and MMF. The sheet cake is 11X15 butter cake covered in BC. After several attempts on the hat band, I went back to regular fondant and my DH helped me get it rolled out ;-) The cake is for a co-workers son who is turning 7.

I was up all night making this cake...but I feel it was worth it! It was created for a western and rubber ducky themed baby shower. The men, women and children were all invited. The tables were decorated in denim with red bandana runners. In the center of the tables were mason jars, decorated with rubber ducks and filled with daisies. So, I got all the elements in the cake. It was a huge hit when I dropped it off!

chocolate cake with BC and BC piping on sides. fondant horse and flowers. I would probably use royal icing next time for the piping cause the red bled into the white, and I think royal would probably be more smooth.

This cake was inspired by Boween's Western Bridal Cake. She has never-ending talent and I love her work!!!

Cake created for a little boy turning 8 years old. He wants to be a bullrider when he grows up. His Mommy didn't want the bull bucking him though...she is scared of that! LOL!!!

Cake is covered in MMF and the bull and cowboy are made of MMF with tylose powder. Everything is edible (with the exception of the ring in the bulls nose!!)

I made this 8 in. square cake frosted with buttercream for my neices 12th birthday. She is really into horses, so I experimented with my airbrush kit. Second time using my airbrush so overall I'm pretty pleased with the look.

These were made to go in a cookie bouquet. The theme was "Boots & Bobos" - so the completed bouquet and pics of the "bobos" will be in the adult gallery. :-) Made for a 1st anniversary present. Sugar cookies with glaze and decorated with royal.

This cake was for my daughter's 4th birthday. She is in love with all things cowgirl, so we picked this cake from a combination of other cakes on this site. All MMF, except the boot on top and the flowers, which are gumpaste. A million thanks to everyone else with a western/cowgirl theme...I couldn't have done it without your inspiration!

I made this for a friends birthday, she is really into shooting and old cowboy & western stuff. I really would have like to use an impression mat for the stone work but I didn't have one so I used fondant balls flattened out. You can't see the roof but it had a wood look effect. My friend loved it and thats all that matters.

Nursery was in vintage western, so this is what I came up with for the shower. Used the embossed pleather decorator fabric to get detail on the belt border... cheapest impression mat ever! Topper (wagon) was actually a birdhouse that can be used in the nursery or hung outside. Diapers made out of felt. Boots are scrapbook stickers. Everything else is edible.

Close-up of the impression I got when I used the embossed pleather fabric as a fondant impression mat. Looks really great in person - like a real belt! Worked really well using brown fondant and then dry-brushing some black petal dust on top.

Made this cake to match the theme of the party from a napkin that was given to me. Cake is a 16" white almond cake with buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant. Cowboy and cactus are both a frosting sheet on fondant cut to fit. Background is air brushed and details around the border are piped royal icing. I had help from a friend with this one so I can't take all the credit.
