I tried to copy a beautiful cake that another member uploaded. It didn't come out anywhere close to hers, but since I am VERY new at this- I was satisfied and my Daughter loved it!

This cake was so fun to make! It was a chocolate cake with buttercream. The star is peanut butter candy pieces that I melted down, added yellow food coloring, poured into a Martha Stewart's huge copper cookie cutter & sprinkled with gold luster dust. The horseshoe is chocolate chips melted in the microwave, poured into the shape of a horseshoe, refrigerated, then carved to shape. To give it a rustic look, I dusted it with cocoa. And the rope is fondant.

Well, here it is. I will be putting together the "how to" soon. I was disappointed but it turned out ok. Vanilla cake with buttercream and fondant and Kincaellan's jewels. Belt buckle is gumpaste painted with luster dust and alcohol. Cake is for a 50th surprise birthday party for a co-worker that wanted a pink cowboy hat with rhinestones. Note to self ~ make sure you know where all of your required tools are before beginning a project!

This cake was made for my Dad's wedding a few years ago. I think it was white cake. It was decorated in BC. The color's were pink and purple (not my favorite!) and had a western theme (again, not my favorite). Everyone loved the cake. The grooms cake was not made by me (store bought).

This cake was a vision in my mind. The "8" is chocolate and the "0" is white cake iced in BC and hand carved from a sheet cake. The cactus were done with royal icing. The cake was sprayed red instead of coloring the icing red. I thought this would taste better and it did but I wasn't impressed with the look of the color. I tried to make rope on the bottom of the cake with BC. This was made for his suprise 80th western party. We all wore bandana's and cowboy hats. He was suprised and everyone loved the cake!

First time covering a board with fondant. I really like the look of it. I had some smoothing issues, I bumped it once, had to take something off once, etc. etc. Oh well, I think Mom will like it.

This is my first topsy turvy cake. I follwed the directions on CC. Very fun, fairly easy. I had some trouble with the decorations and the cake looks unfinished to me. MMF braided rope, gumpaste feathers and white chocolate animals, hiawatha belt, and Seneca Nation Seal.

This is my first attempt at a Cowboy hat cake. I made this for my dad's birthday.
The little dents you see near the top of the cake are from some guy at the party trying to pick up the hat thinking it was real...

This cake was designed after Osh Kosh's "Giddy Up" nursery bedding theme. It is a 10" round and 8" round cake (carrot and yellow, respectively) with buttercream icing. The stars and horse are fondant. I used Osh Kosh's picture of the horse from the nursery theme to model my horse after.
