I made this cake for my husband's grandparents 60th anniversary party Saturday. When they got married they didn't have a cake so I wanted to make them one and this is the first one I have ever done. It is not the greatest but it turned out OK. It is all buttercream 10 and 6 inches. I made the topper and the heart with coated floral wire and plastic beads. I wrapped the wire to a lollipop stick to insert it in the cake. This was also my first try at cornelli lace!!

This is a heavy fruit cake, with marzipan, and fondant. The inspiration was a cake from Kerry Vincent's "Romantic Wedding Cakes". But, as this was a Golden Wedding, I adapted it a bit, to introduce the gold. I used realistic looking fondant roses too, instead of the "satin roses". It was hard work but so rewarding! I was very pleased with it.

This was a cake I made for my friend for her and her hubby's 5th wedding anniversary. I used silver luster dust on the ruffles and roses since their wedding colors were silver and baby blue.

This is the first wedding cake I made for a customer. It is made with Bettercream icing from Rich's and had about 45 roses on it.

This cake is the last wedding cake I have made so far. They were adding their own topper. It is made with buttercream icing and has approx 70 buttercream roses on it. The bride really liked it.

My first wedding cake, September '05 the weekend of Hurricane Rita. As if I wasn't nervous enough they moved the wedding up a day!!! Was not excited about using ORANGE on a wedding cake but I have gotten so many compliments even though I see the flaws. It really changed the way I look at colors to be used. I also did the brides shower cake also (beach theme).

Made after a cake by Margeret Braun for my friends wedding anniverserie. Covered with fondant. Scrolls and borders are piped royal icing. Painted with luster dust and gold dust.

Found this in a Wilton Yearbook. Did this one about 3-4 years ago. I believe it was a butter cake with buttercream AND spice cake with cream cheese filling. Did Corneli Lace with a rose tip, wish you could see the detail. it was yummy.

This was my first ever wedding cake! I was so nervous!!!! The bride was really pleased. I was happy with the cake, but not where it was placed. I didn't stick around to see the table decorations.

This is another wedding cake. The florist had left the topper for me! It was too big, but I had to work with it. I had to trim off the green styrofoam to make it not sit up so high. This is a popular design for me in wedding cakes. Very simple look.

This was a three tiered wedding cake for a young couple in our church. The bottom layer is half chocolate and half white and the top two are lemon. One of their wedding colors was navy, but it was too hot for navy icing, so I accented with navy beading around the base!

This actually wasn't a wedding cake, it was for our pastor and his wife's 50th wedding anniversary, but they ordered something that looked like a wedding cake. These are double layered, carrot, chocolate and white cakes iced with buttercream with artificial roses, lilacs and greenery.

This was a white cake filled with Raspberry Buttercream. You can not really see the side but there is pale blue scroll work that matched the bride's maid's dresses. There are fresh flowers arranged on top. They matched the Bride's bouquette.

This was a cake I made for my brother-in-law's wedding. Rich german chocolate cake with dried sour cherries that I marinated in Kirsh for 1 week. The frosting is a Swiss merigue buttercream. It was delish!!

I made this for a Christmas Eve wedding. I set up the table decorations and the cake matched the decorations at the church beautifully. This is my first wedding cake and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

This was my class final for the first course I did. The pictures don't do it justice I find. All white wedding-ish type cake. Royal icing. Cornelli lace on the top and within the garlands on the sides. White roses on top with silver foil leaves.

This was my first wedding cake, done this past October for a friend's sister. It's 4 tiers, which I had to transport 5 hours to the wedding (I was also a guest) and build there. The layers are Chocolate, Vanilla and "choc/vanil" mixture of both. with buttercream filling and icing with fondant on top of it all.

This cake is an adaptation of the lilly cake in the Wilton 3 course book. It's my first attempt at making a diagonal pattern on the sides of a cake, so they leave something to be desired. The ornament was from my own wedding cake. (It's 10 years old, so it's probably discontinued.)

This is my wilton III finale Cake. I saw a cake on CC that I just fell in love with, submitted by Sue_dye, and decided to to model my final cake after it.
Still not as pretty as the original, but I'm getting there! Hope you don't mind Sue!

This is a practice cake for my daughters wedding that I put together in about 5 hours last night. I dont really care for the middle layer - dont like how the luster dust turned out - but not bad for the first wedding cake!
