This was the groom's cake I did for my SIL's wedding. But could also be for a shower I suppose. I was trying to copy a cake I saw online and this was my first attempt. I had trouble with airbrushing the tree rings due to my airbrush pen breaking. The actually should be smaller around, but Oh well. Hope you like it

You can't tell from the picture but this cake was humongous. The base board is 22" square. All layers had a different filling and the steps were carved triangles and then notched with a decorating comb. The topper is moulded chocolate dusted with gold lustre dust.

Thanks for looking,
Suzanne

P.S. I know the pyramid style is Aztec and the topper is Egyptian but that's what the customer wanted.

A collegue asked me to make this following a b-day cake example she saw in a mag. No fancy flowers/decorations, but I got to try my hand at gum paste on the 45's and the notes. (Her color choice!) One challenge was transporting it because we had to go up so many hills to get there, and then I had to fix some bulging on the top tiers. (Very frustrating because they had been perfectly smooth!) I thought it turned out okay, but I wasn't happy with the border. I did it at the site, and I was nervous.

White, MMF icing and flowers, BC leaves and piping. 10/8/6" tiers. Found this idea in the Wilton 2002 Yearbook. This is my first experience with MMF~ and I love it. The cake has 60 fondant roses on it. This cake is for a bride who is a prosecuting attorney for the US government. She's NOT a girly-girl....but is getting a girly-girl cake!!! LOL

This was the cake I did for my Wilton 3 final cake. The cake in the book had petunias cascading down the side, but it was getting close to Christmas so I wanted something more for the holidays!

I baked this cake for my brother-in-law's 3rd wedding anniversary today. Also a trial cake as my piping techniques are still at infant stage. It's 2 heartshape chocolate sponge cakes & iced with buttercream with pitted dark cherries as toppings.

I made this for a consultation today. The bride loves gold and i did not find this out until just yesterday and i didnt have any gold luster so i cheated a little on the border and the gold "balls". The leaves are chocolate with green luster, white chocolate swirls on MMF on chocolate cake with cream cheese filling. I hope to get a booking off this one.

This is my course three final cake. I was sooooo proud of it! I used a diamond impression mat and edible pearls that I dusted in super pearl dust. My roses are fondant and each one took me no less than thirty minutes because I'm new at making them too.

This is the first wedding cake that I did in class. I'd love to get some honest opinions. One day I hope to own my own business. I used fondant and real flowers.

I used buttercream icing for mine, no one in my family cared for the fondant! I didn't want the whole cake to go to waste after all the work that went into it, so this one is iced instead of covered with fondant. It has whipped buttercream icing in the middle of both though.
