My first wedding cake which I had to deliver to a country chapel in a blizzard. Overall I was pretty pleased with the cake. I was especially pleased with the hand-made gumpaste roses (there are well over 100 on the base) that I made.

This was my second paid customer wedding cake. 4 Tiered- 18" Triple Chocolate, 14" Red Velvet w/Cream cheese filling, 10" White cake w/ strawberry filling, 6" Triple chocloate all covered with Satin Ice. I had lots of problems with the fondant, especially on the 18'. And my husband helped me to put it together at the reception hall, his big fingers made a big gash in the second tier, hence the only cluster of flowers at the bottom of the tier. Please give constuctive criticism.

After a beautiful beach wedding in St. Thomas, this tropical themed cake was the center piece for the newlyweds reception back home. The buttercream iced tiers were decorated using white chocolate sea shells and royal icing coral.

This was my second wedding cake ever. The flowers in the middle and on the top were store bought gumpaste. I was nervous because the pillars were newly bought and not stable and the top tier was leaning. Despite my lack of experience with wedding cakes, my friend loved it. We were upset because the caterers only served the groom cake and left this uncut!

This wedding had a Japanese theme. I made the origami cranes out of fondant and the cherry blossoms out of gumpaste. The Japanese symbols were cut out of fondant. The cake was iced smooth with buttercream, and the bottom of each tier was wrapped with black ribbon.

This was my first cake. My very own wedding cake! A white cake with rolled fondant. I sugar coated fresh Orchids, Roses, and Ivy.
I knew exactly what I wanted for my cake, not over done with fresh flowers, and clean and pretty....so I wasn't going to pay someone to screw it up! After this cake (I knew nothing about cake decorating and kinda winged it) I was so impressed at how it turned out I knew I had do this more!

This cake was delivered by my dear hubby but then he had trouble getting it up on the tall pedestal they had for the cake and he accidentally put his thumb in the black scrolling! So he tried to neaten it up as best as he could but he is NOT the decorator. haha. He put the mess towards the back so hopefully it won't be a huge issue. The scrolling was to roughly match some scrolling on their invitations. The icing is non crusting buttercream and then black grosgrain ribbon trim.

This wasn't actually for a wedding, I did it for a wedding gown event at a church. Overall I'm happy with how it turned out - I really like how the roses look but am soooo frustarated with making buttercream! Will I ever be able to make a batch without air bubbles ! GRRRR... Roses & Dancing couple are gumpaste. TFL

This was for my friend. All white with silver, blue, and white stars. Lindy Smith inspired. My many many thanks to Jamie who saved my A** at the last hour....you are my hero!! The bride & groom loved it, and it was a big hit. I'm soooo relieved and tired. This was my second real wedding cake, and maybe 5th tiered cake. I'm so glad it is over. Thanks for looking.

the cake was a WASC with a buttercream layer, strawberry layer and lemon layer. The "print" is a luck's image.. Bride's theme was Audrey Hepburn, all black and white with tiffany blue accents...top of cake has 5 black feathers that you can't see.

These are 2 layers, 6, 8, and 10, inch round cakes. The flowers on top are silk. I had been asked to make a wedding cake in the shape of a basket with flowers cascading out of it, and to use DIABETIC icing. The icing receipe I had was TERRIBLE!!! The icing was dripping right out of the bag! So, at 1:20am I started making these cakes and went to bed at 5. Called the bride at 8 and started icing right away. She was happy, but I looked a mess for the wedding!!

I originally listed this in cake disasters, but I received a lot of positive comments about it, so I will keep it in wedding cakes. This cake is chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. Covered in fondant. I glued the polka dots on using a stiff frosting but they kept sliding. Also due to the long winding dirt road, tranporting this thing was crazy. When we got to the wedding the fondant had cracked. I covered it as well as I could. I have learned a lot for next time.

This is a french vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting. The piping in done with stiff buttercream. The "lights" at the bottom are actually glass blocks lite from behind. The ribbon border and fresh flowers finish the details.

This is a design the bride chose from Pink Cake Box. Two of the tiers are dummy layers. The rest is cake, done in fondant. A few fresh flowers. The planner was not done doing the table underneath but I had to get going. :-) Wow, the cutters for these scrolls are pricey! haha.

I did this cake for Wilton's course 3. I was really excited with the finished product. This picture is after it was transported to three places. It was beat up a little.
