I am very happy with the way it turned out. The bride and groom loved it. It was hard to photograph with the mirror reflection right on it?!! Constructive criticism welcome!

This was for my daughter's piano recital. The theme was romantic/patriotic (half of the program was each). I did it several years ago, and it was my first tiered cake. I can really tell where I have improved! All BC; I hadn't even tried fondant yet at that time.

Inspired by the Wilton 2006 Yearbook. Used a smaller version for my favorite dog sitter's 10th Anniversary! She absolutely loved it. Carrot cake with vanilla buttercream icing; regular Satin Ice fondant for top, and chocolate fondant for base.

This cake was for my honey's daughter, she got married on Saturday
Sept 20th in a very simple ceremony outside at Amicalola Falls in North
Ga. She saw a similar cake at the Dahlonega Cake Challenge while
she was modeling wedding gowns. White cake with Strawberry filling and
Chocolate designs.

I made this for a former co-worker who knew I did cakes. It was only my 2nd wedding cake & it was nerve wracking. But she liked it. The flowers are gum paste. The rest is BC.

I made this cake for our friend's wedding. Bottom layer is a devil's food cake with cappuccino icing. Top layers are WASC with raspberry filling and almond BC. I'm still unsure of working with pillars - I never seem to get them right. Everyone loved the cake, so I guess that's what matters, right? :)

THis cake was inspired by a fellow cc'r done in hot pink, aqua and black. During my consult my clients saw it and loved it and wanted their fall color scheme incorporated instead of the other colors. So I accomodated the cake dummy design to a real cake in their colors. It was awesome and the had it atop a whiskey barrel for display to complete the theme.

6/8/12, iced in all BC. Cake is sitting on a fountain stand .. but no fountain. Couple opted for florals under the stand. Middle tier iced in choc with gold dragees. The diamond quilting was done freehand with a skewer (that I had to dip in cocoa to prevent sticking). Scrolls on top tier were also done freehand. Bride's aunt made the silk florals. (Long shot showing the fntn stand is on my Flickr site.)

This cake was for my cousin that was married on Oct. 25, 08. My aunt, that used to decorate cakes for people, and I both worked on this cake. She made the 3 tier cake and the white satellite cakes and I made the choc cake choc icing, oreo cookies and cream, choc covered strawberry, and lemon cakes. The cakes I made were all 12 inchs and all the satellite cakes were held up with wine glasses. It turned out really pretty and everyone loved the cakes!

10x3 round base cake with 6"x6" rounds (three 2" layers) on top. Iced in buttercream; real ribbon; gumpaste roses. Placed on 16" & 12" round cake drums. This design was suggested by something I saw in "Wedding cakes: A design source" magazine from England.

I liked the way this picture showed the top of this cake. It was a small one
that traveled from N. Georgia to Lake Martin in Alabama. I decorated it in a
motel room.

yellow cake with ganache filling, buttercream icing. Fondant leaves brushed with luster dust. Her topper never came so I had to improvise with a pile of leaves on top. Any suggestions on what I could have done?

Thank you antonia74 for you inspiration. As soon as my bf saw your cake, she knew it was the one for her. I used 6", 9", 12" and 15" cake pans. They were red velvet, white, and chocolate covered in fondant. The scroll work was made using purple tinted royal icing. Satin ribbon surrounded each base. I was worried I wouldn't do antonia's justice, but was pleased with the results.

This cake was fun to do - there is a mix of royal icing snowflakes, buttercream hand-drawn snowflakes, and snowflake imprints all mixed together with sparkles to give it different dimensions and texture.
