My first ever wedding cake!!! Cake had different flavors throughout and I used Buttercream Dream for the frosting!! I took the picture crooked, but the cake is not!!
Cake was ordered by the brides BIL and FIL; they did the whole wedding, they just told me to do Mickey Mouse and this is what I did!! I know it's not perfect, but it's pretty decent for my first try!!

I was watching Ron Ben Isreal on Sugar Rush a few weeks ago and decided to challenge myself by making a dummy cake with his same design. Following my belief that I have to challenge myself (since I am a beginner) with difficult projects, I decided to give it a try. VERY labor intensive. I used Satin Ice chocolate fondant, made the appliques by rolling lace and fondant/gumpaste together through pasta machine, then outlining in royal icing. The ribbons were a nightmare - solid bands all around.

Chocolate Cake, ganache, chocolate icing. I actually didn't make this cake, but I designed it. My dear friend Denice and her sister Lynn made it for me as my gift.

This was the first and only wedding cake I have ever made. I had alot of fun making this cake for my brother and his bride. I don't know anything about flower making so I just used the star tip to make the flowers. My kichen was a terrible mess after this cake but it was worth it!!

This was the very first wedding cake I ever made! It's difficult to see the detail, but it is a 3 flavored cake (white, lemon and chocolate ) with buttercream, and fresh flowers!

This is a pound cake with strawberry filling and Choco-pan wedding white fondant--although it looked more like ivory to me. The drape was made to match the bride's dress--every other fold was brushed with luster dust. I actually attended this wedding and ended up cutting the cake. It was very enlightening seeing the innards--made me realize just how important dowels really are. I definitely need to dowel more!!

This is my first and maybe last wedding cake. It was inspired by severa cakes posted on this site- too many to name. The picture doesn't show the colors very well, but it is lilac BC with chocolate BC scrollwork. The cake is 14, 10, and 6" WASC cakes with strawberry cream filling. It's by no means perfect, but I was proud!

This is my first wedding cake and the reason I started learning how to decorate cakes. I had a goal to make my sister's wedding cake and I am so happy that everything I learned at my classes and on CC paid off! Carrot cake with buttercream frosting, handmade fondant pearls (560 of them...it took forever!), with satin ribbon and buttercream scrolls. I am hooked now...can't wait to make another wedding cake!

I did this cake for a co-worker of mine as a wedding present. I thought it was elegant until the groom picked out the topper. It's strawbertty cake with a cheese filling with wilton's snow white buttercream frosting.

This was close to a disaster. To long to tell here, but all turned out well and I'm thanking God for seeing me thru. The bottom tier looks lighter in color in my pictures than the middle and top tiers, but they were all the same. Hope it all looks right in the brides pictures.

All BC except for the pearls and the silk flowers which the Bride chose. The collar between the middle layer and the bottom is the Wilton Cherub one. Thanks for looking.

This cake was for a beach themed wedding. Not my idea of a wedding cake, but the bride and groom loved it. The shells are candy melts everything else is bc. The delivery location for this cake was about 35 minutes from my house and down a pretty bumpy highway. The palm trees separated on the way there so I had to cover it up with shells, but I don't think anyone ever even knew.

Chocolate cake, raspberry filling, buttercream icing, sugar pearls. 14,12,10 & 8. ONly my second wedding cake. I did help place the flowers bc I really didn't like what the florist was doing...a bit overkill if you ask me. The flower topper was just the callas wrapped in clear tape which was just stuck down into the top tier (YIKES!) When the tape was showing above the cake, she wanted to take it all out and cut the tape back- NO THANKS- the top tier is bound to break. Covered with petals instead.

Lemon cake, lemon custard filing, buttercream icing; Used tip 81 to create streamers pooling from top of cake over to the sides, but the photo looks like cornelli lace. Added tip 1M border & adding curly ribbon & flowers. To keep the colors lively, used various shades of purple instead of just the wedding colors of white & lavender.

This is a two-tiered wedding cake for my friend's sister. It was chocolate with a vanilla pudding filling.
The bride was able to see it before the reception. Unfortunately, the cake didn't make it to the reception in one piece. The driver hit the brakes too hard and the top tier slide across the bottom. Fortunately, the caterer was able to fix the cake.

This is the cake I made for MY wedding!! It was sooo good and I'm very impressed with myself as I was able to get it all done the day before the wedding! YAY!

The first tier is 14" chocolate cake with raspberry cheesecake filling, next is 10" baileys cake with baileys bc, top is 6" carrot cake with cream cheese icing. All covered in fondant with fondant accents!

Very HAPPY with the outcome and I got LOTS of compliments!

Butter yellow with butter cream icing. Topper was brides choice of Cherished Teddies. She picked this cake from the 1994 Wilton annual. It is 16", 12", 8", and two 10 " satellites.

I used the not so mixed method with the bc icing on this one. (Thanks for the help everyone) I really think this one came out nicely. Looks almost like marble. It was a 12" two layer with a single 6" stacked. I used a sheer shimmer ribbon around the bottom (you probably can't see it in the pic, but it was pretty).

This is my first attemp (just for practice) at the wedding cake that I
am doing for my sister in September. The real cake will be 4 or 5 tiers
high. I was very dissapointed with the push in pillars that I used for this cake ( they are very wobbly) so I went out and bought the 5 " curved pillars instead.

This cake was inspired by one in the Wilton Wedding Dream Cakes book. The bride wanted it a little smaller. I used whipped icing and royal icing for some of the flowers. Two layers were chocolate and two were vanilla, each had blackberry filling. Thanks to spongemomsweatpants for the extra help with my questions.
