Made for a friends' daughters 8th birthday who wanted a beach theme... First time tackling RK treats - what messy stuff that is! - but made a pretty cool wave out of it. Swiss white chocolate cake with BC icing & "granita" sand (cuz we don't have graham crackers over here!)

This was for a friend's surprise 40th birthday. Her husband dreams of
flying those banners over the beach and her laying on the beach waving at him. BC on cakes, fondant accents and inspired by this site. Thanks for the great inspiration.

This cake is FBCT of the famous wave painting by Hokusai. I traced/filled in a printed pictue of the painting. It took me three hours just to do the FBCT, and I was surprised at how great it turned out. This is the best cake I have ever done.

This cake was made for my neice. She wanted just a dolphin. The shells are made out of fondant. The dolphin is rice crispie treats covered in fondant. My first time so I know I need to work on getting that smooth. The waves are also rice crispie treats frosted and airbrushed. The cake itself is dairy free chocolate with dairy free buttercream.

This is a simple chocolate chip birthday big cookie that I made for someone who likes boating and has a boat called the Purple Pride. I did the border in a random design that looks like waves when you look at it from the side.

I used half of the sports ball for the base of the rock and then the other half of the ball cake I cut up and stuck on the bottom piece to make rocky bumps. I covered it in fondx and put buttercream on the fron to look like a splashing wave. The mermaid is fondx.

Fondant covered ship has royal icing ropes and wafer paper masts and flag. Most everything is royal icing or fondant (including the waves). The only part you can't eat are the 2 support poles & the 5candles! + Name of Birthday Kid was on the Back of the Ship in Gold.

Cake is a combination of several ideas from cakes on CC. 10" and 8" red velvet iced in buttercream. Tiki hut is two cupcakes stacked, iced in royal and covered with pretzel sticks. Pretzel rod palm trees with fondant leaves. Torches are candles wrapped in fondant (didn't really like the way these turned out). Fondant tiki mask, shark fin, snake and coconuts. Pirouette cookies around island. Graham cracker crumbs for sand and Oreo crumbs for path. A lot of work but fun and very rewarding!

For the waves I used blue and white frosting but didn't completely mix them. I used a palette knife to swoop the frosting into waves.

This Shamu theme cake is buttercream iced with royal icing waves and underwater kelp with flowers. The cake was airbrushed and glistened with blue and clear edible glitter.
The kids seemed to love the "crunch" of the waves as they ate the cake.

Thanks so much to CranberryClo for her cake that I darn near copied for this. The cupcakes are devil's food. The icing is buttercream (half butter half crisco). The gator is fondant (I made him!) and the rocks are edible. They taste a bit like sixlets, the candy. The figures were purchased at Big Lots for $4.50. It also came with Dora. I am volunteering for a local foster home called Angels Arms. I am making cakes for each of the 12 children that live there as well as the parents. I am so proud of me!

Made this cake for my FIL who was out of town for his birthday and my MIL who just celebrated her birthday, a combination cake. They live on a lake and the competition for the biggest bass is quite entertaining sometimes.
