I made this for our festival cake contest. It is 4 round tiers with the waterfall starting at the top and coming down all 4 tiers to pooling onto the board. Iced in BC, the water is piping gel covering icing with peaks. The kayak/man and the rocks are fondant. Rocks are swirled with food colors to make them look more real. I tried making royal icing(1st time) for the pine trees, but had to resort to stiff bc icing when the royal didnt work out. I was surprised when it won 1st place!!!

Here was my 40th Birthday cake for myself. Talk about the party that didn't happen. I didn't care if there was no party I still made the cake! Fondant waterfall, luster dusted, gumpaste palm trees and gumpaste plumeria flowers, my favorite. Just wish I could have been in Hawaii instead! The kids loved it though. Enjoy!! Thanks for all the great ideas and inspiration.

I'll try this one more time. Having trouble uploading. This was for my friend's granddaughter. The mountain is two 6" rounds topped with half of a sports ball, frosted in buttercream with fondant waterfall. The tiki mask on top is an edible image of Merissa's awesome tiki mask cake! The palm trees are chocolate, from a mold. The sand is crushed graham crackers with gold sanding sugar added. The hula girls are fondant/gumpaste. TFL!

This is a funny cake. Customer wanted me to tie in a lot of different things about the birthday-girl....she loves to fish, had a ukulele band, and is sweedish, so I made her fishing, she has a ukulele in the other hand, and is wearing the sweedish national dress. All figures are fondant. Pumpkin cake with bavarian cream filling. 11" and 9" rounds.

Whew!!! So glad this is done and I'm thrilled with how it turned out. My best friend asked me to make a cake for her father-in-law's Birthday. He's a hunter so we worked out an outdoors theme. I really did things differently with this one but it was a great learning experience. I have to thank my husband for helping me carve the cake, make the rifle, and sculpt the big mouth bass. Other than the grass, all the decorations are fondant/gum paste. The fishing pole and the cat tails are toothpicks.

Thank-you so much for your inspiration and help with this cake-laurakelly2, cakesbyanh & helipops! This is by far my favorite cake! My son helped me design certain elements. I made it for my son's teacher, who has been called to a new place. :( 6, 9, & 12. Buttercream with fondant accents. Royal icing pine trees. The mountains were hand sponged with food color. Hearts flowing in the waterfall to show our love. I had "thank-you" floating in the water on the bottom pond. She loves frogs and mooses.

As my son requested, a safari animal cake with a waterfall. Wilton's buttercrean icing was used. The animals were wooden figurines I bought at a craft store and I attached party mini forks to stand them in the cake. The sign held by the elephant is cardstock.
