Cake I made for my Dad's 70th Birthday. It's in two days- I hope he likes it! He's never had one of my cakes before so I'm trying to make an impression! He is a retired airline Purser and avid vintage suitcase collector, so I think he will be pleased! More pics to come after the big day.

First time making ruffled cake and it was SO much fun! It's a carrot cake with cream cheese buttercream outside. Easy to make, but my hands are aching a bit. :)

Red velvet with cream cheese for the bottom 2 two tiers and vanilla with vanilla buttercream for the top/smash cake. Carnations are gumpaste and attached to a styrofoam ball. The Mom requested a pinwheel on top, so I took some pictures with and without it. Thanks to Sam1181 the inspiration for this cake. The last picture is how it looked once it was delivered! Love love love this cake.

This cake was made for the grand opening of an auto museum. The owner just purchased the 1950 "Wasabi" from Barret Jackson and I was asked to make a cake of the car. I used five 1/2 sheet cakes to carve from. It took about 24 hours to make, that might seem a little long but this was my largest 3D cake and my first car! I made the hood a week ahead of time by carving a model out of styrofoam, then laid gum paste over it to dry. There are 2 wires in it to keep it propped up on the car. The engine is a rice krispy treat covered in fondant and the parts are gum paste. It is all air brushed except for the silver trim which I painted by hand. The license plate is an edible image. I did have it on a rotating base, but it exceeded the weight limit! It was about 125 lbs. The flavor was pink Strawberry champagne with chocolate chip. When I delivered it I got to meet the guys who made the Wasabi, the real one. It was an awesome experience!

I was asked to do a retirement cake, and the only thing they knew they wanted on it was "Oh the places you'll go" from the Dr. Seuss book and a hint of spring color =) So I came up with this. A leather suitcase that's seen the world =) Chocolate cake with raspberry cream filling. All edible.

I created this cake for a wedding shoot that a photographer and wedding coordinator put together in my area. I took these pics of the cake before I took it down to the shoot, so the coordinator said I could post my own pics! :) I LOVED how it turned out. I was given some plates from anthropology to use as inspiration and took it from there. The entire shoot was all white on white with a little pink, so this is what I came up with. After the shoot was over, and I got the cake back (it's a dummy), I took the base off and flipped it over! :) I actually like it better flipped...see attached pic. Pretty funny how a simple design change can totally change the look of the cake!!!! They are trying to get the shoot published in a couple magazines, so I'll post pics from the actual shoot on my blog after it goes to print. Thanks for looking!

Wedding Cake for wedding I was a bridesmaid in as well...The cake was actually all dummy cakes except for the top tier. I helped the bride's aunt make this cake by covering most all the tiers in fondant and making some flowers. The bride's aunt made the top tier -- Italian Cream and Italian Cream & Red Velvet layer cakes were served at the wedding. I've uploaded the groom's cake I made, too.

This cake was for my daughters pre-k Q and U wedding to reinforce the concept that Q is never without U so they had a weeding for Q and U. It was a very cute idea. This is an all butter cream cake with the bows and ribbon around the bottom being fondant painted with super pearl.
