12 inch spice cake iced in buttercream. Flowers are royal icing. I fell in love with this cake when I bought the book. I replaced roses for the daffodils she used.

I'm still practicing. I can't figure out how to make roses so I just made stars & put a small white dot in the middle. There was a picture of this cake that came with the heart shaped pan. I used cream cheese icing & buttercream for the pink & green.

Tiramisu-flavored cake (which mean coffee ice cream instead of oil) with pink fondant and white fondant roses with buttercream ruffle. This was a mess to try to get out of the pan even though I greased it. I'm surprise it even turned out this well. And again, my icing kept breaking while I wrote the message.

Birthday cake for a nurse who works in the Cardiac Unit. His birthday just happens to be right near Valentines Day so it worked out well. Cake is red velvet covered in fondant. The veins and arteries are molded from rice krispies and covered in fondant. We went back and forth on whether to smooth over the rice krispies with buttercream first, but the fondant directly on the rice krispies made for an interesting texture.

This is a cake I made for my husband. I had so much fun doing it believe it or not! I used the ball pan for the breasts and this works cause mine are similar! :D This was a devil's food cake with raspberry filling on the top of the heart then covered with ganache...I let that harden some and put the frosting and fondant on and it worked out great! If this isn't a sexy Valentine's Day cake then I don't know what is!

I think if there were any more kids in my DD's class, I'd jump off the balcony. Hearts, paws, and the funny looking things on the bottom are bones... they made her giggle - I didn't see the humor (well it is midnight on the 13th). NFSC with MMF and RI w/ #1 tip writing.
