My cohort and I made this today for our very first (paid) client! Hoorah!

It's for a 4th birthday party, with a mermaid theme. So, we dove right in and decided to create THE little mermaid for the lucky birthday girl. The cake is covered in fondant, Ariel is made of fondant, fondant detailing....pretty much everything is MMF. We covered the board with buttercream and sprinkled with brown sugar for a sea floor effect. We are still adding details and such (Happy Birthday!), but for now, this is pretty much the cake in its final form.

This was for a friend's baby shower. The theme is under the sea or baby sea animals. We bought bath toys for the accents to save time. The "sand" is brown sugar.

My niece wanted an underwater / dolphin cake for her birthday so I make this little cake for her. Blue fondant, airbrushed fade... royal icing coral, fondant dolphin cutouts. The bubbles are those Wilton candy ball things... like dragees but white color. :) After it was together I had an idea to stick gummy fish, octopus, and sharks on it, put graham cracker crumbs for sand, and candy rocks on it.

I made this cake for a church friend's son for free. They wanted a Spongebob underwater theme. I used a 13x9, yellow cake iced in vanilla buttercream. Spongebob and Patrick were made by made oldest daughter with MM fondant. (She has the talent!) Edible marker was used on Spongebob & Patrick. I made the mmf coral, clamshells, rocks and flower pad they are sitting on. Edible pearls inside the clamshells. Yellow flowers are piped buttercream.

Made this cake for a friend's granddaughter & Wow! am I glad it's finished! Have you ever have one of those cakes that give you trouble from the start? Well, this was one of them for me! It started off with the first tier cracking completely in half when I went to level it, & having to rebake it. Thank you to other CC'rs for inspiration...there are a bunch on here! Thank you for looking!

6 inch yellow with chocolate BC, 8 inch milk chocolate with peanut butter BC. All mmf decorations with toy Nemo and Dory on top. The mom wanted those included for the birthday boy. She found a picture on this site that she liked. I changed up a few characters and accents, but the top is almost the same. I've tried to find it myself to give credit, but can't. So thanks to whoever posted the original design.

Cereal treats molded for the main body of the shark (two parts), then fondant details. Buttercream and fondant for everything thing else. The shark was a little big and quite heavy, so it was difficult to keep together.

I finally got my son's Bubble Guppies Cake done. Seems like it took me forever! I handmade all of the figures - fish, crabs, dog, boy, display pieces from gumpaste/fondant. I wanted the brown section of the cake to look like their classroom. Cake is white with buttercream. The left side is 3 layers high. I wanted to give the cake some depth and dimension. It looks very busy with everything, but I wanted it to look similar to the show.
