Here is a fire engine I did for my 3 year old son's birthday. I ran out of time (as usual!) and didn't get to do it justice. Good news is my son loved it anyway.

This is a 1/2 sheet cake stacked and shape to a firetruck. The decorations were mostly candies with a little drawing with icing.. The ladder is pretzels we connected with royal icing and then dipped in white chocolate. The hose on back is Twizzler Tropical licorice, and the wheels are Pinwheel cookies, sirens and lights are marshmallows and Dots candy, also the bumpers are made of Doublemint gum strips. This was for a 3 yr. old and we included a picture of him in his fireman's hat on the front windshield.

My son's 2nd birthday party cake. He sais "beep beep" when he saw it. And he really liked it (especially the m&ms in the back). That's the most important part to me.
it was a cream cheese pond cake wth chocoalte chips and a chocolate filling, covered in fondant. The directions were in the Celebrate with Fondant book put out by wilton.

I was NOT happy with how this cake turned out. I originally made the sides with color flow, but didn't allow them enough dry time and they broke. At the last minute I covered cardboard with fondant for new sides. It was so heavy we had to support the sides with toothpicks. The tires were doughnuts, and the dirt is chocolate milk. Even my lines were crooked! I hope to redo this cake someday and have it turned out like I originally planned.

I made this for a little boy turning 3. I was not happy with how this turned out. I wish it had of turned out a little better. I could not figure out how to make the fire truck look like it was up on the wheels, instead of them right beside the truck. Any Advice? It was okay overall and the little boy and Dad loved it. Lots of ideas from CC!!!!!!!!

Vanilla cake loaf and mini pan. Layered with chocolate ganache. Tires are made out of rice crispy treats and dipped in dark chocolate. Attached with royal icing. The bed of the truck sits on an upside down tupperware box to get a "lifted" effect. Orange and grey (supposed to be black :/ ) frosing are French buttercream.

This is a Grave Digger monster truck cake for my co-workers son. I made it so the Grave Digger truck was destroying all of the other trucks in the graveyard. The tombstones are chocolate covered grahm crackers. The logo behind the truck is a chocolate transfer.

This was made for a little boy turning 3. He lived across the street form the rescue squad & just loved the trucks. This truck was his favorite. So I took lots of pictures to go by. The mother was thrilled. This was my first attempt at a 3-d cake. It was so much fun to make.

This is a bithday cake for an 18 year boy. They wanted something young for leaving behind the childhood, but something older for going into adult hood (hence the girl with the bikini). All bc except for the girl. The dirt is done with graham crackers.

This cake was the easiest hard cake I've made. My customer insisted on whipped cream icing even though I had never made it before. I should have had a test batch but didn't have time. I ended up making butter out of the cream and had to run to ACMoore and pick up Wilton's Vanilla Whipped Icing at the last minute. But all in all I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Enjoy!

Brownie dirt pile, fondant rocks and plastic trucks make up this construction site. I use a large horseshoe pan, cut some away from the front where the digger was and placed in another spot to form the hill.

This little boy had an obsession with garbage trucks (!), so it was the theme for his 5th birthday party (the garbage men were even coming out to visit for the kids)! 12x18 vanilla sheet with buttercream icing. Garbage truck itself is a foam toy. Houses/trash cans/bins are rice crispie treats covered in fondant and royal icing acccents.

Double choc cake, triple fudge filling, BC frosting in camouflage colors. The colors did not come out quite right... I couldn't get black, so, I settled for an odd shade of green. The colors were supposed to be muted, not quite so bright. I tried to copy a picture of a real Hummer for shape and design (windows, grill, sideboard, bumpers, etc).

A friend wants to buy a Hummer painted in camouflage colors... so, we gave him this instead! :-)

There are four photos to view to get the full effect of this cake. I used a cupcake to make the mound of dirt, with cake crumbs over it. The other photos are of the "road sign" cookies I used around the outside. I wanted to set the cookies on point like real road signs, but, I hadn't measured right, so, I had to sit them square. Next time...

Made these cakes for a company picnic. Iced with Bettercream icing, topped with strawberries and cookie crumbs. I used a loaf pan for the trailer part of the truck and a mini load pan for the truck front. I cut part of the end and stacked it on top. The wheels are oreos.
