I have to thank everyone on CC who posted a picture of their firetruck cake. Everyone of the cakes were inspiration for this one. Carved out of Chocolate and White Almond cakes. Iced in BC with fondant accents.

Here's a truck for a trucker! The truck colors are the same as his real truck (almost...) He's turning 40 and his wife wanted a truck because he just bought one.

This is a 12 by 18 cake. BC, with a few fondant accents. The design matches the partyware. This was almost a disaster...cake broke completely in half, and I have my fingers crossed that they'll never know :)

This is a cake I did for my husband who is an OTR truckdriver. It's chocolate with icecream in the center, which is why it looks frosty on the buttercream-overlay road tractor.

I used the 3D Cruiser pan for this. The wheels are Rice Krispie treats covered with fondant. The cake is also covered with fondant and then I free handed the picture and painted the whole cake. After doing this, I really want to get an edible image printer!!!

This cake is all white, w/BC icining & crushed graham crackers for "dirt". My directions was only Hot Wheels theme no other specifics. Always wanting to do something different, I thought of the idea of a car jumping over a pond of alligators. (The b-day boy loves alligators.) So I placed a plastic bowl in the cake w/colored water and placed 2 plastic alligators in it. I also used plastic Hot Wheels race track. The kids loved the "water" in the cake! Again another HUGE hit at the party!

A chocolate cake with yellow tinted buttercream. I made this for a goodbye party at my moms work. She is a dispatcher for a tow truck company. Their trucks are blue and yellow so i incorporated it into the cake! This was my first sheet cake of this size and it was definitly very interesting, lol, i had a difficult time with it. I actually havent done another sheet cake since, lol!!! I didnt know how the do the shell border so i did a star border instead and the Tow truck is made of fondant.

This was a last minute order for a 4 x 4 pick up truck for a little boy's first birthday. I simply stacked and carved down a 1/2 sheet cake into a truck shape and iced accordingly. She wanted whipped frosting, which will be my last time with 3D cakes, it was so hard too smooth. The tires are doughnuts, the plates are fondant, and the 1 is made out of marshmallow sundae topping.

This was a first attempt at a truck. I know what NOT to do for the wheels for my next one. My nephew loved the cake, he said i did a great job- and he is very picky about his trucks.

This is my 2nd Monster truck cake. I made these out of rice krispy treats. It was easier, but I like the look of pound cake better.

This dump truck was made in four loaf pans (two cake mixes). The wheels are mini chocolate covered donuts and the dirt is crushed cookies. It started to tilt, and I had to add a wedge under the cake board. Next time I'll level it before frosting. OH, you can't see it; but the license plate in the back says "UR3".

MMF with MMF/RK accents. Looked at so many pictures to come up with this--thanks to mconrey for the pan size/servings help:). Couldn't find cakewizard's ebay patterns:( I love the result--wished i had a few more hours on it:).... personalized it with the due date for the engine # and put the baby's home town on the ladder--the new parents were in from out of town for the shower and surprised by the cake "details"--fun.

Inspired from the internet and CC. Thanks to all who's cake photos helped me with this creation. It was a lot of work but really not too difficult. I stacked 2 -1/4 sheets (I left the "hump" on the top cake to give the cake some shape) and placed an 8" square on top (placed a little away from edge) then trimmed back and sides of 1/4 sheet to same size as top. Used fondant for flames and side detail. I handpainted the ghost details with buttercream and used donuts for tires.

This is my take on several 3D dump truck cakes I saw on the website.. The customer picked what she liked for it. It was cut from a sheet of Sour Cream Poundcake and frosted with Buttercream, viva'd and detailed with lots of accents, The top shield is an iced Grahamn Cracker and its load is mixed crushed oreos, brown sugar and 'rock colored' jelly belly jelly beans... This was a big order for me, The mom also got 2 dozen matching cupcakes, with grass, orange cones and more jellybean rocks! Thanks for Looking

This cake was SO easy to make! It is made of yellow cake and BC frosting. I glued a1 inch by 1 inch peice of styrofoam to the cake board. Baked 2 loaf pans of cake for the trailer part and then placed them on the stryofoam and trimmed them to be the same size (remeber to secure them to the stryofoam by wooden pics or straws!). I then carved about 3/4's of another loaf of caked for the rig. I used Oreo's for the wheels and silver pipe cleaners for the stacks.

Retirement cake for co-worker. Truck and trailer were done to match his in real life. Yellow cake with Chocolate BC icing. I had some trouble with the FBCT, so even though I know it's not great, I'm just happy it turned out at all!

These were a little time consuming for being such small cakes ( the car is a slightly modified Wilton car, but the truck is cut out of a 9x13)...and I even cut some corners to make it go faster....no pun intended?
