I made this cake for a family reunion this weekend. It was banana cake with buttercream icing. The trunk is just icing that I piped over a baby bottle (I had to put clean rock in the bottle to keep it upright). The branches are just fake leaves on wires covered in floral tape. From the branches are pieces of paper with the family member's names listed on it. It was fun to make.

For my sister's 30th birthday. I made these for her party last night. It was at a really upscale wine lounge, so I figured that cupcakes would be so much more convenient than a large cake. The giant cupcake was for her, and next to this, I had a cupcake tree (see my photo album for more photos). Didn't have a large cupcake wrapper, so I did the best I could wrapping it with fondant. Needless to say, they were a total hit! So many people want me to do cakes for them now! I put two plastic dogs on each side.

Winnie the Pooh baby shower cake. The pooh was made from the small bear pan. The tree is 4 sandwich cookies and a ball of rice krispie treats and then covered in buttercream on the trunk and leaves. The ladybugs and bees are from royal icing, which is the first time I have done that. One cake is carrot and the other vanilla w/ strawberries and pudding. It says " A New Hunny To Love" which I got from someones cake on here (thanks :).

This one was done for a 12 yo birthday. She was very specific about what she wanted, including the flamingo in the center! I found it while on a trip to the zoo with my children. I purchased it in the gift shop for under $2! I fell in love with it, it was so realistic, and I knew it would be far better than anything I drew on the cake!

Marble cake with BC frosting. With the happy couples names both starting with "M", I decided to use M&Ms as the flowers on the tree. The guest loved it.

This cake is out of the new wilton yearbook. I really enjoyed making it for my cousins family picnic. The stand makes the tree so easy to make.

I got the idea for this cake from this site. The original one was done by CakesByEllen. Thank you! This is a chocolate/French vanilla cake with BC Filling and icing. I used ice cream cones for the trees and Arrow Root cookie crumbs for the sand. I bought the chocolate rocks at the local bulk store.

I made this for a little girl's 6th birthday. She would not tell me what she wanted, only that the frosting must be chocolate. So I decided to try a tree stump with fairies. It was my first time using gumpaste and I had so much fun!

Used chocolate icing to make the trunk and the stems. Added the small sugar cookie hearts with green sprinkles upside down for the leaves. It was a hit!

Still more practice cookies...just cannot seem to get the hang of these (to get them to look "clean" in the decorations), but I'm still working on them! :-)

Cake for church Luau party. Sheet cake on bottom w/ 8 and 6 inch rounds. Sheet cake was banana w/ banana cream filling, middle layer was a dark chocolate fudge with ganache filling and top layer was white vanilla buttercream between layers. All was done with BC, including palm tree fronds. Did not have a good cake board underneath and got minor cracks in the icing when the cake got moved. Lesson learned there!!

I made this cake for my grandfather who turned 95 on August 1. He is in an assisted living center now, but he still loves to feed the birds outside his window. The tree and the bird are both FBCT's. It looks like it was raining on the cake, but it was incredibly humid the day I made this.

Mother having a safari themed baby shower. She said to do whatever I wanted. I had seen a very similar cake on CC and decided to go with that. I had a blast making it. The palm trees would be edible if I didn't have to use glue to glue them to the pretzels. I couldn't get the icing to make them stick! I was happy with how it turned out and look forward to doing more like it.

My version of a tree stump cake I saw in a decorating book. Six torted layers of white cake with Bavarian creme and strawberry filling in alternating layers. Elves, mushrooms and snail were made from gumpaste. This was my first try using gumpaste and scuplting any type of figure like these. Leaves made from a gumpaste cutter. The white parts on the mushrooms were painted with pearl luster dust. Elves shoes painted with black gel food coloring.
