The Transformer Optimus Prime is a wicked dude to put on a cake! I faked most of the detail with black buttercream. Yikes

This is a Transformer cake that is the Optimus Prime Truck. It si 22 inches long total and was made using 3 13 x 9 cakes and 1 9 inch square cake, it was a mixture of chocolate cake and yellow cake, . The details are fondant and painted in edible silver. the rods are made from fondant wrapped prezels, and the wheels are made from chocolate mini doughnuts. The Optimus prime stencil at the back was made form fondant , and I made a stencil of his face spray painted it on and outlines it in edible markers.

I made a chocolate chocolate chip cake with cream cheese buttercream icing. This was my first time using the royal icing transfer technique. I think it came out well. :) I bought LED lights online and buried them in the cake, then set the characters over the lights. When doing the transfers I made sure to reserve an open space for the light to come through. It was the day before we moved across country, so I only had a plastic knife to frost with and a ziplock back to write with!

STILL LEARNING THE LITTLE TRICKS, BUT IN THE END EVERYONE WAS HAPPY. VANILLA CAKE & BC ICING. ANY THOUGHTS ON HOW TO IMPROVE ON BCTF VERY WELCOME, (I KNOW PRACTICE!!!) THANKS FOR LOOKING.

Cake for a 6 year old having a Superhero party- He does love Transformers, hence the topper (a $30 toy found at Walmart on Clearance for $5...)
Vanilla cake with red swirl, IMBC icing (and regular BC too)
Thanks for looking :) If I had more time, I would have added webbing to the Spiderman side - Darn it!

Made to replicate the transformer 'blackout'. Not to happy with the outcome - had less than a day to put this together for a family member. The only item that is none edible are the propellers.

A cake made for my 4 year old nephew. Cake covered in fondant and all decorations done in fondant. I made my sister buy the two toys on top as it would be a scary undertaking to attempt to mold them.

Car shaped cake decorated to look like Bumble Bee, the Camaro from Transformers. My son didn't want a plain old Camaro, so he transformed his toy part way for me. The head and arms are made out of cupcakes.

11x9 cake pan for the bottom slab. I used the car pan and changed the shape of the car by adding cake and shaving off to make it look as close to a hatch back as possible. The car is detailed and covered in fondant. The slab is covered in BC.

I'm new to this. I can't believe how long it took me! All worth it though. My friends raved about the WASC strawberry cake and the kids loved the transformers.

This is one of the first cakes I have made for someone other than family. A co-worker/friend's son's birthday. I was very self conscious about it, but all her family's compliments made me feel better. When they told her how much they liked it, they didn't know the person who did it was sitting near them. It has encouraged me to do more for more people.
