My first chocolate transfer on top of a 6" cake. What a learning experience. I had a few air bubbles and the faces are kind of weird but overall not too bad for the first time. It was fun and I hear the 2 year old birthday girl loved it.

First attempt at a FBCT and with chocolate transfers (Dora and Swiper). Will try both these methods again since they were so much, and I could use the practice! Thanks to Squirrellycakes for the inspiration and the choc transfer instructions!

I did this cake for a birthday, but think it would make a nice Mother's Day cake. The hummingbird is a bc transfer, the rest of the cake is bc and the flowers were gumpaste that I had extra of.

I made this for a crawfish boil - it is a vanilla Dream Cake with Whimsical Bakehouse icing. The sun is chocolate transfer. It was a big hit. The star border is a bit unimaginative, but I was short on time. Square cake are much hard to ice than round ones!! I did not know that!! I think I will stick to the crusting buttercream from now on. It is so much easier to work with.

I made this cake for my son's school carnival. It was for the Kangaroo Hop (cake walk). It is chocolate cake (doctored cake mix), BC icing, and chocolate transfers. I'm in LOVE with CTs! :)

This was my first buttercream transfer. It needs improvement, but not bad for a first try! If I knew it was going to turn out that cute, I would have actually iced the cake nicely and smoothed it, plus added borders and embellishments. But we learn from our mistakes....

Did these chocolate transfers back in Jan 06 for DH birthday. Used Wilton and Guittard melts, Wilton candy colors. This was a first for me and I had fun making. I need more practice. Thanks Squirrely Cakes for the inspiration.

I made this for two colleagues at work who are retiring. It is chocolate transfer with buttercream icing. This is my second sun like this and I think I improved on the first one. I used a parchment bag for the outline and I got a much finer line. The inside is a vanilla cake and white chocolate mousse filling. I also added sand and chocolate seashells when I took it to the party. I'll post that pic too. Thanks for looking!!

This is what it looked like when I took it to the party. If anyone knows how to get that nice marbled appearance that is pictured on the outside of the seashell chocolate mold, please share! I wanted those orange shells to be white and orange, but the two colors just melded...

These are two little cakes I did at the last minute. My sister-in-law wanted to celebrate her twin's birthday at my son's first communion party but she wasn't going to have a cake for them since I was already having one for my son. I made these little smash cakes just for them.

Made for preschool teacher retirement. White and chocolate cake with BC frosting and chocolate transfers. I couldn't figure out how I was going to get the writing to go on straight and decided to do it as a chocolate transfer...I think it turned out pretty well. I am not thrilled with the cake..wish I'd left the roses off, but hopefully it'll be enjoyed by the teachers. Thanks to those on the site..I got the saying from someone else's cake.

This is my first try with the buttercream transfer. I think I made it a little thick and I need more practice. I did make the icing thin for the fill-in part. But not thin like when you use colorflow. Anyone have any tips for a first timer?

This is a sour cream white cake from the CMD which is iced in BC. Airplane and banner are chocolate transfers, both of which broke! I think I'll stick to the FBCTs!

Thought I'd try a few things from the Whimsical Bakehouse. I used the "house buttercream" recipe. I like the way it taste, but it's tricky to get it smooth. I also like the way the flower turned out....not bad for my first try i guess.

This was supposed to look similar to a cigarette package. I couldn't pull it off. Good thing its for a friend. BTW, Wilton colormist taste GROSS! And smells wrong. I'm going to take extra frosting to replace this stuff after we pick it off. Name was done by BCT.

My friends wanted a birthday cake done for their little boy turning 2. They wanted a Thomas the Tank cake (which I did) but I did this one as an extra. It is FBCT, and I am totally addicted to doing them !!! I know that we are supposed to blur out faces on pics of cakes, but I don't know if this counts ????

Floyd is a character developed by our church youth minister to illustrate children's services. I made chocolate transfers of Floyd to decorate 2 dozen cupcakes for the minister's departure party.

This is a Butter Cream Transfer (bct), My first one. I thought it turned out great. It was less time than doing all those stars. I used the instructions on this site. They were great instructions I just didn't know how thin to make my icing. Anyway my 3 year old loves it and it will be a big hit at the party.

This was the most challenging, but great learning experience, cake I've decorated. Made 6 color flow plaques of the graduate but they didn't dry in time. Made them 3 days in advance. Ended up using chocolate transfer. Another experience, covered board with color flow just to have it absorb shortening from the frosting! Over pretty pleased. Cake is white with choc ganach filling.
