Got this idea from this website. My first ever cupcake cake and Frozen Buttercream Transfer. Learned a lot. This was for a friends' 30th birthday which was at a pub, so I didn't want us to have to "cut" a cake. Thanks for looking:)

This was my first ganache cake, and I had so many issues with it, it didn't want to smooth out on its own, and I dont like having a smooth cake. It was chocolate cake with raspberry filling, a chocolate transfer of the logo, and chocolate roses-also my first time with chcolate clay

I recommend decorating a cake with a friend who also decorates. We both learned a little something from each other. I did this cake with my first piping transfer. It was fun

2 layer chocolate cake with chocolate BC filling. Purple Dream Whip BC. Teddy Bear is a chocolate transfer using milk and dark chocolate. Melvira's method to smooth the cake was the best!

This was the first cake I made for class, the week before Valentine's Day. I used the pattern transfer to get the picture on top. The best part was that it was chocolate cake with peanut butter filling! YUM!! ;-)

French vanilla cake, oreo filling, rolled buttercream accents and FBCT, used sparkle dust on balloons.
Aack, this cake gave me problems from the get-go ~ transfer broke 3 times, couldn't get me lettering way I wanted, ended up with smudges of blue on the white icing, stuck finger accidentally in cake, BUT I finally finished it

Originally this cake was supposed to be COMPLETELY different than this. I ended up having to take my fiance to the hospital...so when I got home, that left me with an hour to decorate. Luckily I had made the FBCT of Hello Kitty, and the rest was kind of a rush. Marble cake with 1/2 butter 1/2 crisco buttercream. First FBCT I've done and I LOVED how easy it was!!!

This was made for a co worker who's birthday was today and the theme in her room for the week was green eggs and ham. I attempted to make the characters out of royal icing but they wouldn' t dry so I tried chocolate transfers for the first time. I gotta thank the cc members who answered my post and especially to Michelle (newfyicing) for all her help - again!
thanks for looking - we are proud of this cake!!!

For my MIL's birthday tomorrow. My first time making SMBC and I was really nervous about it! I was going for the contrasting colors of the orange and blues. The butterflies are chocolate. There is a bit of a reflection on the chocolate wings. Oh well! Thanks to everyone who helped me to figure them out! I had inspriation from Frostings with Flair, WBH and Fairytale, but I think I made it my own too.

This is from my step-father's b-day cake. He loves his dog, "Baby Girl", so my mom gave me a picture of her and I made a frozen buttercream transfer of her. He cried when he saw her on his cake!

This is a practice cake. I wanted to try doing a transfer using buttercream frosting. The cake is about 4 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches tall. The cake wasn't completly cool (i wont do that again) so the frosting started to melt but it turned out ok.
What do you think?

This is my first FBCT. The red is bleeding and the eyes are all awful, but I think it turned out ok. I probably should have tried a smaller one with less detail for the first time. I need more practice to get it all smooth. Thanks.

This is for a 4 year old girl, friends of the family. My first inspriation was from the Frosting with Flair wesite (just love her work!) I also used the wilton 2007 yearbook for the awning (though the template is WRONG!) I had to have my DH help me with the engineering for the awning as I found it needed to be very precise! I am pretty happy with the outcome, but I do not know if I would want to make this cake again!! The horses are chocolate transfers. Thanks for looking!

Here is another "Blue Dog" cake based on a George Rodrique's design. This time, I did a Mardi Gras theme for a Fat Tuesday party we had at work. The dog is a chocolate transfer. I had to do him twice to get him to look the way I wanted. I also experimented with a diamond pattern on the side of the cake. I was quite pleased with the design and best yet . . . the cake tasted great! Chocolate burbon cake - yum!
