This design was inspired by KarenMichi. The layers are 12, 10, and 8. The top and bottom are yellow cake, with the middle being chocolate cake. All the tiers are frosted with Bavarian Cream flavored buttercream and covered in MMF. The only items on the cake that are not edible are the pearl stamens in the flowers, the topper, and the strings of pearls at the base of each tier. This is our first wedding cake and only the 3rd or 4th fondant cake we've ever done.

My first attempt at a topsy turvey cake. This was for my daughter's first birthday. Covered in MMF with MMF confetti, ribbon around the bases, and, thought you cannot see it, swirls and dots painted onto the white fondant.

This is my first topsy turvy cake. I follwed the directions on CC. Very fun, fairly easy. I had some trouble with the decorations and the cake looks unfinished to me. MMF braided rope, gumpaste feathers and white chocolate animals, hiawatha belt, and Seneca Nation Seal.

This was for my sister's bridal shower. Top tier is a 5-6-7 strawberry, the middle is a 7-8-9 yellow and the bottom tier is a 9-10-11 chocolate. They covered in fondant and silver dragees and hearts were used for the accents as well as for the topper.

Alice in Wonderland Baby shower cake. My first try at a topsy turvy. The top two cakes turned out fine. The bottom tier however was red velvet (not a dense cake recipe :( It could not hold the weight of the icing and the side was cracking off at 2:00 AM the morning of the shower. OOPS! I wrapped it in plastic wrap (like a belt) and I re-iced and decorated it. So, in the end, served them side by side. No one knew the difference... but it made me sad.

It looks Ok here, but during transport the top tier kind of slid backwards. It did have a center dowel, but I made the angle too severe on the bottom. It was a good learning experience! Thanks for looking!

This cake was done as a dummy cake...only to be looked upon by the party goers! It was a definite challenge, but very rewarding in the end.

This is my 1st topsy turvey cake. My son wanted a Curious George cake that was crooked for his birthday. I decorated it to match his plates and napkins

Well, what can I say- I learned a LOT. Used the topsy-turvy cake instructions here, which were awesome!! But, I wanted the top tier to be a teacup (used one sports ball and a 6" cake for that) and didn't compensate correctly with the second tier. Everything buckeled when I stacked it. And, the top tier did fall off in-transport, taking almost half of the middle tier with it. Everything is decorated with fondant or gumpaste. I used a mold for the butterflies and painted them with various dusts.

Chocolate mud cupcakes with dipped chocolate topping. All gumpaste flowers wired into small sprays (whew! that was a job and a half!). Top cake is covered with fondant and has cutout fondant decorations. Little bride and groom made from gumpaste. Thank for looking.

This was my first whimsical cake. It was for my nephew's graduation party..he wanted an Asian theme, so his picture is held up with chopsticks, with bamboo leaves and red orchids. It was fun to do...a little stressful though.

My first time at a Topsy-Turvy cake. Fondant 3 Tier cake with gumpaste stars , 60, and trains. Tunnels are made of fondant. My fondant was not perfect around each tier, but no one noticed.
This was for my Father who loves trains.

I was Oh-So-Lucky to have been able to attend a class taught by Browen Weber herself. It was a class teaching the techniques of Topsy Turvey cakes. Bronwen was so much fun!
