This was my first attempt at a topsy turvy. I was happy with it, but didn't think that the angles looked as dramatic as some that I have seen. The cake was four different flavors, covered with fondant and fondant and gum paste accents.

This is my first attempt at a topsy turvy. It was a dummy for the state fair. A lot of blood, sweat and many tears went into this one! : )

I made this for my friend's birthday. He turned 33, hence the number 33 at the top. It was my first topsy turvy cake and probably my last!!! It was alot harder than I expected it to be, but everyone loved it. Bottom layer is choc cake and top is classic white. All iced in Wondercream icing with fondant decorations.

I made this cake for a 7 yo's B-day! the napkin used for inspiration is on the side. It is two 10 inch cakes and 3 6 inch cakes, white chocolate cherry cake with blck cherry mousse filling. I bought some white chocolate coffee syrup and brushed the cakes with it and added it to the frosting. The frosting was VERY not smooth, but they loved it anyways! TFL
P.S. I sprayed the cake with PME Lustre Spray I just ordered on line LOVE IT!!!

Yay! My first topsy turvy! Sizes are 6-8-10 on tops and 4-6-8 on bottoms... at highest point they are about 6" and lowest 4". Marbled fondant over SMBC over nice light chiffon cakes with mousse filling. You can see just a little buckling BUT this cake was used at a bridal fair for 5 hours then transported home while warm so its held up really well. Flowers are inspired by http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1035093 by AuntiElle - so thanks!

My first topsy-turvy cake from class. I am not thrilled with the way they wanted us to decorate them, but I am happy that now I understand the structure and support, etc.

This was my first attempt at a topsy turvy cake, I made it with buttercream icing as I havn't mastered fondant yet. The floating dots and plaque are made from chocolate and the bow and beads are fondant. Ciara picked and mixed the colors herself for her cake. She wanted a cake with polka dots.

Thanks so much to Fairytale and Doug for the hat box idea and how to! Thanks to Sugarshack for the color/patterns and RSTML for the fabulous RI tower tutorial. Cake is 10" decadent choco. with chocolate covered cherry fill and 8" white(?) with Strawberry milk shake fill.

My sister loves blue and brown, so I tried my hand at a whimsical topsy-turvy cake. It's rather small - the layers are 5", 4", and 3" rounds. I painted designs in luster dust on dark chocolate fondant. (The fondant does have some not-so-smooth places. This was my third time using fondant on a cake; they say practice makes perfect. :)

First ever Topsy Turvy/Mad Hatter as well as first time using fondant to cover. First bows, roses, balls. Not too bad, but I need loads more practise. Cakes were passionfruit and pineapple butter cake. Very moist and yummy

I had a blast doing this cake, it was a little damaged at the bottome getting to the party (bumpy ride) but it was still a hit, all details are in Satin Ice, except for the candy corns. The cake was a Dark Chocolate with Butter Cream Frosting resembling and tasteing like an Oreo Cookie.

I'm sorry for not being modest, but I LOVE THIS CAKE!!! This is for my sister's Halloween party. It was a lot of work and next time I do a topsy turvy cake it will definitely be the only cake I do that weekend. The cake topper is a decorative skull I found at the store.

The nightmare is finally over!!!! I should post this cake in the disasters, it turned out ok but getting there was pretty scarey. I lost a whole tier due to the cake spliting down the sides. Luckily this was for a family member and not a paying customer. All fondant decorations. Home made chocolate fondant tinted black. Thanks for looking!
