This was my second topsy turvy attempt. I needed more time to add more embellishments, but I was happy enough with how it turned out. I learned that a colored fondant base looks much more fun.

This is actually my 4th cake but it is my first topsy turvy. This was so nerve racking!!! It is chocolate cake w/ choc. BC, I think the cake was a little to moist because it did not feel real stable. It is covered with MMF and the animals are gumpaste.

MMF, BC and Gumpaste. Chocolate pound cake with chocolate BC on top and bottom middle Sour cream pound cake and Lemon BC. This was a second attempt at my first topsy turvy. The first one was unstable and fell over but but I used the single plate seperator system this time and it was much more stable

This is my first topsy turvy cake. I made this for a friends bridal shower. Covered in marshmallow fondant. It was harder than I thought it was going to be to make this. I slated the cake by using extra filling on one side. The cake slopped a bit, but luckily did not fall over.

Sourcream vanilla cake with buttercream and MMF. My neice turned 10 yrs old and she wanted a 'teired-festive-colorful' cake and so I also did 'swirly colors' inside cake batter with food colorings ..She had a pinanta this year so I had the idea of 'explosive candies' on top. I had never done a whimsical before but always wanted to. I can honestly say this was the hardest one I've ever done. I either need to make others for the practice or never make one again for the serenity :) decision pending.

3 tiered topsy turvy cake covered in fondant made for a cousings baby shower. The flying butterflies are made of paper because I was still new in cake decorating and didn't realize fondant butterflies were too heavy for the wire I picked out. Live and learn!

This is a Topsy turvy cake (12", 8", and 6") covered in BC and accented in MMF..
This is the 1st time I did the topsy turvy thing, and was very nervous about it. But I doweled it alot, and it made it all the way to the party without any mis-haps.
Will make more of these, it was fun!

I have been looking forward to this cake for awhile and was very happy with how it turned out. It was for a co-worker's daughter's sweet sixteen party. They absolutely loved it. It was a 14" square(WASC with raspberry buttercream filling), 11" round(WASC) and 6" square(chocolate with caramel buttercream filling). Duff's buttercream frosting and decorations are mmf except for the 16 which was made out of pastiage(sp?). I need to thank Surferchic, I got my inspiration from a similar cake she posted. TFL.

This cake is my first and only attempt at a whimsical cake for my cousin's 28th birthday, entitled The Kwimberly. Three tiers,8 layers yellow with buttercream, mmf and gp accents. Please feel free to comment as I am just starting and would love feedback. Please help also if anyone has an idea of what this cake's worth might be as in a price range. Thanks so much.

First shot at TT. for my SIL 60th unbirthday. Right out of whimsical bakehouse. The candles were a real hit. People snacked on them while the cake was being cut. Real challenge was the middle layer - angel food!

This was my very first attempt at cake decorating. I used the recipe for the 3D/Wedding cake recipe on this site, and also made MMF from the recipe section as well. The layers are approx. 6", 8", 10". I had fun, but I definitely have a newfound respect for those of you who do this professionally. =) I couldn't have done any of it without all the great info on this site. Thanks cake central!

Mini topsy turvy cake with all fondant decor. Made for a friend who was turning a tad over 40. Note the quarter to help show the size. Itty bitty decor is time consuming, but totally worth it.

10, 8 & 6" cakes, iced with traditonal buttercream and covered with fondnat. Followed the tutorial from CC. Do what it ways! See the wrinking on the bottom? That was an indication of things to come! Lots of fun to do but it uses A LOT of cake to get this effect. The customer sent me the pic from The Pink Cake Box and this was the result.

My first topsy turvy cake. I used topsy turvy cake pans that I found at a cake supply store in Miami, Fl. It was for a boy baby shower, the mother to be is a young girl and didn't want anything with baby on it. The cake is 6 and 10 inches. Covered in fondant, carved the sides, fondant bow.
