This cake is a 10", 8", 6" and 3". All yellow cake with all buttercream icing. I love pastel colors and so I used cakefairy18's idea from her pastel colored squared cake she made (Thank you cakefary18 for the idea!). I love roses so I made 90 miniature roses to go around the cake in all buttercream icing, that took forever, LOL but I loved the way it turned out.

These were a first for me. I finally tried the gelatin flowers and was pretty pleased with what I came up with. The cake is a white almond cake covered in BC and MMF. Kinda don't want to cut into it. What do you think?

I am so proud of this cake. The piping looked like little crowns. When the florist arrived, it just set off the cake. Please let me know what you think.

This is my first stacked cake that I have ever used dowel rods in before. Bottom layer is a double layer 10", middle layer is double 8", and top layer is a double layer 6". Iced in all buttercream icing and the roses are all silk. I had to transport this cake to a resturant and I had to stack it and put the borders and flowers on it when I got there, I was sooo nervous with everyone watching me my hand was just a shaking, I couldnt hardly do the shell borders, LOL. It was a real big hit everyone loved it!

This was a first birthday cake for my niece. My sister requested a funfetti cake iced with butter cream. I used fondant to make the roses, leaves, hearts, windows and castle door. A photo of the birthday girl was added to one of the castle windows. A tiara and a disney princess candle finished the design.

White cake w/BC. The florist and I didn't much agree on where and how many flowers to put on the cake. I thought it was a little unbalanced (didn't tell her this). 10 minutes after she left they started falling off the cake -she had cut the stems too short!!! Glad I had been invited to hang around and the caterer gave me toothpicks to them. I ended up moving a couple of them and learned a lesson. I'm certainly not perfect but I do take advice and suggestions!!!

First stacked/carved cake. Done for my BIL's birthday. Took HOURS! and I'm just holding my breath that it doesn't fall apart before the party today! The legs are 2 stacked 6 inch cakes. The body is wondermold cake. The head is the sports ball cake. All iced in BC and covered with MMF. I hate the way the head came out. Can someone please tell me how to cover a sports ball cake with fondant and keep it smooth! Hat made with gumpaste.

Seashell wedding cake, with cream cheese icing. I didn't notice until I downloaded pics, but it was a bit lopsided- I used Wilton hidden pillars- they are wonderful! Everyone loved the flavors- fr. vanilla w/strawberry filling, chocolate with Bav. cream filling, carrot with cream cheese filling and lemon with lemon pudding filling. This site played a big part in my success- Thank you everyone!

This was for a children's Christmas party at my parish. First time I tried to construct a tiered cake and the most cake I have made at one time to date!! The cakes were covered in IMBC and the decorations were freehanded out of candymelts and applied onsite.

Made this for a 50th wedding anniversary. Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake with Chocolate Buttercream and that Betty Crocker Pour and Frost icing on top. It's a 6"-10"14" - each tier is about 4 1/2 inches tall.

My friend asked me to do her bridal shower cake and since I had never made, I thought I'd make a practice cake. I ended taking it to work and made a lot of coworkers very happy :o) I also saved a couple slices to bring back home for my hubby. The bottom cake is a white vanilla cake. The top cake is a caramel cake. I filled both cakes with whipped vanilla pudding, very nice and light. I used Wilton's BC frosting for the icing and the decorations. This was the first time I painted the inside of my piping bag.

I've been doing cake decorating casually for about a year and finally got to do a real wedding cake. This was for my mom's wedding reception. The bottom and top tiers are chocolate and the middle tier is white cake. Nothing too fancy, and it's kind of simple, but I had a lot of fun with it. No disasters.

Gumpaste flowers and bow, satin-ice covered. The bottom tier is white chocolate pound cake and the top tier is toffee crunch cake. Fondant ribbon fron Cal-java.com.

My daugher and I made this for our mothers day gathering. She's only 8, but she worked her bottome off on this. She made all the leaves and half of the flower petals. She even helped bake the cake. I'm so proud of her. It was a bannana cake with bannana cream filling and bannana butter frosting - it was sooo yummy! The decorations are fondant.

Well this cake was interested, i have never had so many problems with a cake before. My icing wouldn't crust, i had air pockets UNDER my icing, and my round cake squished the bottom layer on one side over nigh (it was perfect when i decorated it in class) But since it was a practice cake I tried a lot of things that i hadn't had a chance to do before. And I would like to say I envy all of you who have the patience to do fondant roses. They wore me out!

Did this for a friend... cakes are homemade pound cake filled with a white chocolate/cool whip and fresh fruit (might be too soft though...?) and iced with a whipped buttercream recipe I got from work. Flowers are done in royal. I wanted it to look yummy as well as pretty, so it is kinda simple but I thought they'd like it.

Top and bottom layer are forms, the two lopsided middle ones are real. One is chocolate, one is white.
Im just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to take the lopsidedness out of it. I think I have done all I can. Oh yeah... the two real ones are now stuck together, so I can't really lift them off without wrecking it. Joy joy joy !!!!

This was my first tiered cake, and only my 3rd cake after taking Wilton Course 1, so I'm still learning. We will be celebrating my 2 nieces' baptism tomorrow! The writing around the bottom tier says "Daughters of the Most High - Honored - Precious". Nothing too difficult, wish I could get my icing smoother! All buttercream icing.

I made this cake for my daughter's first birthday- making a tiered/stacked cake with the top tier just for her! Buttercream icing- flowers are made with royal icing. This was my first attempt at anything like this- I'm only in Course 2 of Wilton Cake Decorating classes!! Layers were 10", 8" and the smash cake was a 5" cake.

I was worried about using the brushed embroidery technique on whipped icing, but with a very soft touch, it worked. I decorated with medium consistency buttercream icing with piping gel. In some cases, I picked up the icing but it actually added to the effect. You can see my x's in preparation for a tiered cake, but I didn't assemlble for the pic because I have to transport it.

OK, this is a practice cake I made. I wanted to practice stacking cakes, making bows, and making cornelli lace. I learned a lot including what to do better next time. Everything is mmf, royal lace. Any advice would be appreciated.

Choc. Cake w/BC & choc. scroll work. The couple wanted somewhat matching cakes. My first time for using push in pillars but I think they are okay. I also wondered how the white topper would look against them. It was nice to see her beautiful smile when she saw the cakes. Made my day!

Madeira Cake w/Raspberry Filling. Royal Icing piping with Tulle and Ribbon decorations. This is my first real wedding cake. I had done one in class several months ago. This is done as a 'gift' for a couple at church who were married a few months ago. Both had lost their first spouses to cancer.

Wedding Shower Cake for my future DIL. Violet Fondant with brushed embroidery BC icing work. Fresh Flower Topper A LOT bigger than I ordered made, I think it would have looked a lot better with the smaller topper.

A miniature tiered birthday cake for co-worker, just for fun playing around in the kitchen when I should be sleeping. Only 7 inches tall, 8-6-4 lemon cake frosted in buttercream using Americolor Lime Green with Electric blue accents. It was for our graphic designer guy at work. Can't wait to see his face in the morning.

My first tiered cake. All buttercream. 6" round-chocolate, 8"-white, 10"-marble. It was a cake adventure, but I love how it turned out and the customer was very pleased. The actual anniversary couple were surprised, as they didn't know this type of cake was being made for them. The 1/4 sheet cake is also posted. My story is posted on the forum.
