Pastor Angela travels to spead the word of God to other nations of the world. This cake was to represent her heart falling over the earth, so to speak.

This was made for my husbands boss. She is just about the nicest lady you could meet. The daisies are made of fondant, pressed into the buttercream, then airbrushed with yellow, orange and pink.

This was made for another pastor in my town. He wants to become a singer. His birthday was on St. Patty's day, so his church thought it would be a fun combo, so a ran with it. Came out better than I expected.

Teenage boys are so hard to make cakes for. You don't want them to have flowers or anything that might look girly. So I asked him what his favorite colors were and came up with this black airbrushed cake with red stars and border.

The bottom tier is covered with MMF (first time making and using) and the top is BC basketweave. The figures and easter eggs are marzipan (also first time working with) and the flowers and RI. I made this to bring to a brunch and I got my first paying job off of it!!

This was my first tiered cake. It was the final project in my Wilton class. It's iced and decorated with buttercream with purple, mauve, and yellow mums, a couple brown squirrels, and orange leaves around the edges, purple borders. Sadly, I ran out of real buttercream by the time I did the squirrels and had to settle for store-bought icing from a tub, which is why they are kind of sloppy looking : X

This cake is my own version of the one in "The Whimsical Bakehouse". I did not have time to do the trees :( This cake was done for a group of small children who were going on a trip to the Zoo to spend the night AT the zoo! Better them than me!!!!!!

This cake is buttercream with fondant accents. I added gum-tex to bow loops for firmness. I almost had a panic attack the night before the cake was due...it was very humid and the loops would NOT dry!!! Luckily, they finally firmed up enough to put the bow together.

This is a photo of my first cake that I completed yesterday! I am so proud of it - I was a bit ambitious with a three tier cake to start out with, but the 4 days of work provided a great learning experience and "sweet" success in the end. I cannot wait to do more! It's bright and cheery so I call it "NEON". Decorated with fondant (everything but the orange) and buttercream (orange).

This cake is for my 28th birthday. A girl I work with asked me if she could pay me to do my own cake...she said she didn't want to insult me with a Wal-Mart cake...ha ha! I had grand plans for this cake, but I ended up having another cake due on the same day, and I was so exhausted when I finished it that I took the easy route. Hey, if you stick a big flower in the top, anything looks cute! It was yummy - banana nut cake, chocolate ganache filling & cream cheese icing...DELICIOUS!!!

I actually made this cake for my birthday! The bottom tier is 5 layers of Strawberry Cake from scratch with vanilla mousse filling and the top tier is 2 layers of Darn Good Chocolate Cake with vanilla mousse filling. (All recipes for my cake were found on this website! ) It's covered in ivory buttercream frosting and gooey chocolate frosting is drizzled on the bottom tier. The bow is fondant.

This cake is a first birthday cake for a precious little girl. We thought a big bow on the top would be cute with the gerber daisies. Well, I got a little carried away and the bow got REALLY big. I like it! One of my favorite cakes so far!

This is my very first cake with rolled fondant! I was very proud of myself, because I always imagined that rolled fondant was hard to do but.... not at all!! I loooovvveeee the result. This cake was made for my friend's birthday. She was so happy. I usually make cakes about once or twice a year (for my husband's birthday and for Valentine's Day) but now I know I will be making cakes at least once a month lol!!

This was a pound cake with cream cheese filing covered in fondant. I did this cake for a bartender's birthday. I tried to make the cake match the glass, the glass says "Birthday Girl" and I don't know it you can tell but the glass is sinkin in to the cake. I did use dowels, I just don't think I use enough of them. I actually got paid for this cake even though I just wanted the practice. Besides the sinkin I am pretty proud of myself. Thanx CC for looking and for the ideas.

This young lady of 90 yrs. loves vibrant colors & especially choc. covered strawberries... The 90 on the cake is made from the choc. mold, after the number was set I broke a lollipop stick in 1/2 & added the stick & wet choc. to the back of it & let it dry. Now I had her age to stand out on her cake & she could eat it too... Added her picture to the cake for a personal touch, everyone loved it..

This was a 50th Anniv. cake a customer requested for their parents, the gold pearls are not edible, although the churb in the center tier, the 50th wreath on the right side of the cake as well as the picture frame the left side cake are all white choc. dusted w/ gold luster to bring out the details on white choc. The family forgot to get a small picture of the couple for the candy picture frame, so a 50th pc. fof candy was attached in the center of the frame & a w/wet choc.
Everyone loved this cake.
