This was my first attempt at a wedding cake. I've been doing this for less than a year. The happy couple (who I met for the first time on their wedding day) took a leap of faith and gave me a shot. I think it turned out pretty good and they were very pleased. Each layer was a different flavor so there was something for everyone.

This was made for my MIL's birthday. Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and covered in white chocolate with gumpaste roses. The cake was made in the middle of winter (in the middle of the night) and the white chocolate set so fast that I couldn't get it smooth - in the end I just went with the slightly rustic look.

This is the second cake I ever made. I made this cake for my daughter's 3rd birthday this past weekend. It's butter cake (wilton recipe) with crusting buttercream icing (recipe on forum). The decorations are fondant and tinkerbell was bought. Everyone loved it, especially my daughter.

This is a devils food and all buttercream 8",6", and 4" mini wedding cake for a friend's anniversary. They didn't have a wedding cake, so she wanted it to look like a real wedding cake...I hope that it does. It's my FIRST time making roses EVER! They aren't super hard, but they're hard to do properly. Also my FIRST time doing the bead border. I need LOTS more practice, but it's coming along.

Apparently this cake is pretty popular this year, third one I've done in the past two months. I think it was in the Knot magazine, I'll have to check. The ribbon was a pain in the @#$ to tie, and as you can see it's not straight. Rolled fondant, with real flowers.

I just loved this cake! It was a major hit at the shower! The guest of honor was excited to be able to keep the figurines to set on a shelf in the babies nursery!

This was my daughter's 1st birthday cake. It is a 6,8,10 inch tiered cake all buttercream. My oldest daghter had a Cherished Teddies figurine on her 1st b-day cake so I carried on the tradition for my youngest.

Made for my parents 50th anniversary dinner. They were married the day after Thanksgiving so we decided to go with a fall theme to add some color to the "golden" anniversary

My first tiered cake for course 3. I couldn't bear to make all those fondant roses... and it's just the time of year for poinsettias.

This was my first cake since taking a cake decorating course. It was really, really hard work to do 100 cupcakes! The top cake is not too even and this photgraph shows the back of the cake (thanx to the hubby ;-). The cupcakes are chocolate and vanilla with vanilla buttercream. I had made 5 different types of flowers all from floral paste. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I have also posted a close up picture of the cupcake flowers. Please tell me what you think.

This is a cake I did for a friend's parent's anniversary. They didn't want anything fancy, just something that was tiered and had gold on it. Both tiers are white cake with BC filling and frosting. I used a gold ribbon aroud the bottoms and sprinkled the roses with gold shimmer dust. To make the swiss dots gold I mised the shimmer dust with the BC. The family really liked the cake.

First wedding cake ever and I want to say NEVER AGAIN!!! I say that, but will propably do it again, just not soon. It was White and Red velvet with cream cheese filling and mint buttercream covered in 2-layers Satin Ice and 2 Layers MMF. That is a whole story in and of itself. The cake tasted great, but not happy with anything else. Oh well, Live and learn. BTW 150 Roses on the cake! OUCH in the pocketbook! Thanks to all of you who helped me get this cake DONE!! You are all life (and cake) savers!

This is a cake I did for my daughter who turned 4 on the 12th of December. It is chocolate fudge cake with buttercream frosting, royal icing tiara and roses. I was inspired by so many beautiful cakes on CC, of course, so I added a little something from each and every one of them this is what I came up with. My daughter was pleased and that is all that matters!

This was inspired by Colette Peters Christmas Cake pictured on the cover of American Cake Decorating Nov/Dec 1995 issue. This cake is the Wilton petal pan. The cakes rest on a fondant covered board and I used gumpaste poinsettie ribbon flowers with bow loops. Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas!

This is my first tiered cake. I made it for my daughter's 1st birthday. It took me 6 hours the day of my daughter's birthday. Mostly, because my son kept tearing the flowers. I remade them twice and then didn't use them. Anyway, I forgot about the awning and it didn't have enough time to dry so it kinda caved a little. All in all I'm very proud and my family was totally impressed.
