this is my 2nd attempt at a tiered cake. I wanted to make polka dots on each tier but ran out of time. Its a devils food chocolate cake, filled with chocolate mousse, crumb coated with vanilla buttercream ( a very thick layer actually ) and covered with fondant. I knew people would probably peel off the fondant ( each and every person peeled it off) so I added extra bc.TFL

I need to keep practicing my tiered cakes so that they come out a bit more leveled. It was all made out of buttercream, except for black ribbon (regular ribbon).

I didn't have much time because I was already making 2 cakes and 3 dozen cup cakes for my niece, so my cousin got toy cars on his cake. He didn't seem to mind. All WASC with vanilla BC and fondant decorations. I want to thank debescakes and BakedByLisa for their inspiration. Thanks for looking.

This cake was fun! I hand painted the vine on to the cake. I then used fondant for the flowers, leafs, AND THE BOARDER!!! Yes I took fondant rolled it into a ball and then a tear drop and made it into a very cute boarder. The cake was no icing on the outside, just fondant, so here it is. Also, I have included the progress photos, because I feel this cake was sooo beautiful in just white, and just the vine and leafs! WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK?

I made this cake for my brothers girlfriends birthday. She is in love with anything Marilyn so my mother and I came up with this idea. We used a 6, 8, and 10 inch rounds. The bottom teir is covered in gathered fondant. We had never done this before so I was nervous, but I thought it came out ok. The other two tiers are covered in buttercream. The pictures around the cake are edible images layed on fondant, with buttercream piped around them. The topper is also and edible image layed on fondant. We used edible pearls and gold dragees around the bottom of the two top tiers. She loved the cake I was so glad.

My best friend needed help, and that's when I began learning how to make MMF. This is the first tiered cake, the first fondant cake, and the first wedding cake that I have done. It was very simple, because she just needed the two tiers to sit on the cupcake tower. The ribbon was floral ribbon that was used in other aspects of the decoration, so color matching was no issue. The flowers helped it to shine! The cake is red velvet with buttercream icing because I was scared to use cream cheese icing under the fondant. I made the cupcakes with the cream cheese icing, so the guest never knew the difference, since the tiers were for the bride and groom to cut for pictures and save for their first anniversary!

This cake was adapted from another cake that my friend sent me a picture of. This was red velvet cake. I tinted the fondant tan and then air brushed the brown. This was my first time using fondant, first time with a tiered cake, and first time with the air brushing.

In total we have two large 3 tiered cakes, one medium 2 tiered cake and two smaller 2 tiered cakes, approximately 6 dozen sugar roses in pink and blue, one custom sugar topper, white cake, strawberries and Italian Meringue buttercream. My first Quinceanera and it was for 200. Simple in design but beautiful when complete.

This is a 2 tiered, Vanilla Buttermilk flavored, Tinkerbell cake cake. It is covered with MMF and everything is edible on the cake aside from the Tinkerbell doll. That is a little memento for the little birthday girl. The flowers and butterflies on the cake are a 50/50 mix of MMF and gumpaste. The purple flowers on the front of the cake are made from royal icing. This is one of my favorite cakes that I've made. I have all boys so when I have the chance to make a cute little girl cake, I jump at the chance!!!

Everyone said it was rediculous that I make my own birthday cake but I wanted to make a cake that I wanted. I am always thinking what someone else would like but I wanted something I would like... and I love this cake. Its 3-tier (8"+6"+4") Vanilla cake with Milk Chocolate ganashe. Butter creamed then covered in white fondant. The top and bottom tier were then covered with strips of colored fondant and a violet scallop top with golden yellow drapes. The middle tier I left white and created brown vines and mini fantasy roses. I would have added leaves but I simply ran out of time and I dont think it takes away from the cake. On the top of the top tier I added larger fantasy roses and leaves. I couldent even cut the top tier cause it was just too pretty, its still sitting in my fridge.

This was a celebration cake for a food service company's 25th anniversary. They wanted a cake that represented a logo which was a plate with a crossed knife and fork with roses on the side. The bottom and top tier is chocolate cake and the middle tier is vanilla cake. The fork and knife are chocolate replicas of an actual fork and knife. The roses are fondant. My friend said that the owner of the company had tears in his eyes when he saw this centerpiece cake!

This is my daughter's birthday cake that I made using Marshmallow Fondant. It isn't leveled but this I just finished Course 3 when I made this cake. I think I did alright, I'm still new to cake decorating. The actual cake is a white cake, iced with Swiss Meringue Buttercream, covered with MMF.
