This cake was a nightmare to do, obviously. My problems started when my torting attempt ended up diagonally through the cake. Then I had problems with my handwriting. My great hope is that no one at the church potluck tomorrow gets sick. It is cream cheese icing and it has taken me a heck of a long time to get this dang cake done. There will be candles in it tomorrow.

I did this for my daughter's preschool Thanksgiving snack last year. It was made to look like an art project they did using their footprints as the turkey's body. It's actually made up of mini cupcakes.

I just decorated this cake today! I found the upside-down icing method yesterday that thought it was brilliant. I tried it and to my amazement it worked beautifully! There are still some airholes, but otherwise the shape is loverly. When it came time to decorate it, I was scraping for ideas to do on this oval cake. Finally I decided to go with the season. The feathers are done with tip 103.

1st attempt at the pumpkin cake. I used MMF over buttercream. Leaves, acorns and bow are MMF, hand painted with luster dust. One cake was carrot cake, the other white cake. Carrot cake was too moist to hold its shape. I filled the two layers with a pineapple filling. Hence the bottom "bows" out. New to the cake decorating world. Comments and suggestions welcomed. Actually made this for my son and daughter-in-laws first anniversary. They had a fall themed wedding.

After seeing all of the great cakes like this one, I decided it would be fun to bring to a family dinner tomorrow, since it was my turn to bring the dessert. I'm pretty happy how it turned out.

This is a yellow cake with choco buttercream flavored with french vanilla coffeemate and cinnamon. The cake is also covered in choco MMF. It turned out wonderfully. The "fruit & veggies" are NFSC with fondant coverings. I painted them with food coloring.

This is an applesauce spice cake with cinnamon buttercream icing. This was my first basketweave cake. The leaves are fondant painted with watered down gel food coloring and sprinkled with gold sugar dust. The only thing I may change next time is to try a cream cheese icing with the spice cake.

Another cake from this weekend. I actually did two of these. This one is chocolate buttercream with red and orange regular buttercream on a 8" yellow cake. The idea is from a set of cupcakes I saw in Mailbox News last year. I made the cupcakes and thought I could do the same this year on a bigger scale. Fun to do!

These are my first decorated cupcakes, made for a church potluck. It's homemade chocolate frosting, candy corn tailfeathers and beak, and the eyes are the yellow part of the candy corn dotted with frosting. They're nothing complicated, but they tasted yummy!

I loved these cookies! I did a small business expo and wanted to show something in a wide variety of price points. These were 2 1/2" NFSC cookies w/fondant. The cups are just some fancy disposable paper cups, with a printed napkin on top of the styrofoam. People went crazy over these!

I made this for the HR lady at my husband's job. They had their thanksgiving meal today and she ordered this for the party. It's an 11X15" chocolate/chocolate chip cake with buttercream icing. I made the leaves and acorns out of gumpaste and painted them all by hand. Thanks for looking!

This is the very last pumpkin I have made for this year. NO MORE until next year. Im tired of making them, even for pay. This was the 12tth, yes 12th! Large pumpkin cake for the season (in addition to 32 small ones). Thankgving is not even here yet and I dont want to make anymore. I was begged to do this last one for an children's auction by my mother. The large one is an 8 layer pumpkin cake and the small one is cheesecake. Both are covered in pumpkin mmf.

This is a 10" round yellow cake w/ a butterscotch filling (it was reminiscient of caramel though) I did a basketweave around the cake and a reverse shell for the top and regular shell border on the bottom. Turkey is done in the FBCT method. This was for a military function, and the comical part about it, no one wanted to cut the cake...they thought it was too pretty (not like I'm some well known cake maker!) I had fun making this cake, but thinking of so many frosting colours to make about drove me nuts!
