Just fooling around with some left over IMBC. Thought I'd practice flowers. I need a LOT more practice. I guess I got at least 1 passable carnation. The asters are a complete loss...can't figure those out, my points weren't pointy. My roses resemble cabbages. I do like my rosebuds, though! Practice, practice, practice! (oh, those other things are s'pozed ta be sweet peas.....) :-(

I did this cake for a sweet 16 birthday party. My first topsy-turvy cake. I was TERRIFIED something was going to happen to it, like it was going to collapse once I left the party, but it didn't! I have learned several lessons for next time though (like put my borders on at the site). Bottom tier was chocolate cake with oreo filling, middle tier was yellow cake with dark chocolate raspberry ganache filling, top tier was yellow cake with lemon filling.

I'm not a fan of p-i-n-k. It's too girlish, for me. Until I made this over the weekend with a friend. I like pink now. Not "love", but like. *heh*
This, to me, is perfect for any princess in any one of us.. thus the name. :)

I made this cake for a cousins Sweet 16 birthday. Her favourite colours are pink and green. The top layer is French vanilla and the bottom layer is chocolate both with buttercream filling. I got the idea for this cake from this site. It's a combo of beachcakes, LolaT and Rexy's cakes, thanks so much for the ideas. She loved it.

bottom layer is buttercake 2nd and third are chocolate, all are filled with a cookies and cream filling iced in vanilla buttercream covered in fondant. the numbers are chocolate as my daughter broke the fondant ones an hour before it was due. The masks are molded fondant. this is also my first attempt at the tilted madhatter cake. I learned quite a bit while doing it.

MMF over cakes and to create the initial "E". Lace mold on 2 layers to "duplicate" her gown and simple swiss dots in RI on 2 layers finished base off with a fondant "ribbon". Brushed the "E" and swiss dot layers in luster dust. I arranged the flowers to compliment her shade of orange with mini roses and white lilies. I made this cake for my co worker's sister--they all wanted to know why she asked me to bring a "fake" cake:). Thank you tbittner &prettycakes (CC) for help with the lace mold--my 1st!

I used the general idea from the Wilton Yearbook, the customer wanted some things changed but this was my very 1st time ever using fondant, and the customer could not even tell.

I did this cake this past weekend it turned out ok. I need alot of practice on my writing. It is a yellow cake I substituted veg oil for peach flavored applesauce everyone said that it was very moist and had a great taste. The roses are made of royal icing and the rest is buttercream. Everyone said that it was beautiful but I think it could have been better got a lot of practice to do before I am even close to some of the cakes that I have seen in here

Just using up my leftover icing from my Wilton Course I cake classes. I thought I'd try the border using the sweet peas and a collection on the middle using a heart pan. I think it turned out great but wow did my hand hurt for a bit after allthose flowers. This is fun... Thanks for looking!

Wonder mold on top of a 9"x2 round cake, decapitated plastic doll pick, fondant dress and decorations. I made this for a Sweet Sixteen and learned lots. My DH decided to give it a silicone job which made it difficult for me to work with the bodice (which looks too long). I didn't push the doll pick in all the way and had problems with that also. Thanks God the girl LOVED it!

6", 8" and 10"X 3" pans used. Wilton initial, silk flowers with ivory ribbon and gold rope as a border. Thanks to my DH for the smooth look...he's the expert at home and loves the Viva towel method (yet to try the Melvira method). A couple of people asked if this was a fake cake because it looked so perfect. Thanks for looking!

Sour Cream Vanilla sheet cake with buttercream icing. Chocolate cake with twinkie filling, chocolate icing, fondant covering on round cake. Buttercream scrolls. Ribbon accents.

For my daughters sweet 16 dinner. She wanted white, red and black so I used unedible items for colors. Afraid of having red and black teeth LOL.

If if can go wrong it did with this cake. Fondant tore, round cake buldging and broke, but I doctored it the best I could.
