Cake is made from 1- 3"x8" and 1- 2x8" rounds with half sports ball under the roof. Roof shingles are fruit by the foot glued in place w/royal icing over a stucture of uncooked spaghetti. Hut walls are alternate cereal sticks and piorette cookies from the $1 store. Palm trees are rice cereal treats molded and colored. Hammock is part of a vegetable bag and Hannah is made from mmf. Her book is twirl tootsie roll. The sand is crushed graham crackers sprinkled with mini m&m's. Small jelly beans for path

For a mom who is loves beach themes. Baby bedding is Aloha by Lambs and Ivy and has palm trees and surf boards. Fondant baby and blanket and the wave and surfboards are also fondant. Thanks for looking!

About a year ago I saw a birth announcement on the internet, I wanted to do something with the design so bad but didn't have a reason. I am so glad my fav sisterNlaw finally got pregnant & when I started planning her baby luau (our hubbys are hawaiian) I knew this was it. It was a hit & everyone was SHOCKED to learn that the couple who didn't own the bakery (my hubby's sister owns 3) made the cake. It was a hit!! It is covered in MMF & the honu & details are gumpaste. We didn't want to cut it up :)

My niece wanted a tropical cake for her birthday. She originally wanted a disco cake which I had prepared for then but there was a change of plans about 2 days before her birthday. So this is what I came up with at a moments notice thanks to some inspirational cakes here on CC. Bottom tier is 'triple threat chocolate' and top layer is 'bananna butterfinger'...accents are candy clay ( 1st time using candy clay thanks to the help recieved from KHalstead and JoAnnB).Palm tree,umbrellas, picks-signs inedible

Made for a co-workers 50th b'day. We had a hawaii 5-0 theme. MMF covered cake, graham crumbs for sand, chocolate decorations, gumpaste hula girl, tree and wave.

This was my TD cake for June! I thought it came out pretty well, even though I didn't win! The wave is molded from RKT and the whole cake is covered in my signature Cream Cheese fondant. The shells, surfboard and surfer are molded fondant This was my first figurine, and he didn't tirn out too bad! Thanks for looking!

9x13 1/2 butter 1/2 chocolate one surf board is done in buttercream and the shark was done by covering an ice cream cone with marshmellow fondant and the surf board in his mouth is fondant too

I made this for my son's 5th birthday...bottom is buttercream, center is chocolate, and top is strawberry...buttercream frosting covered in fondant with fondant and/or gum paste critters. Surfer , surf board, and wave are all gumpaste and fondant...super fun to make and a big hit at the party...

Worked for HOURS on this cake, but it was fun and customer loved it. My favorite items were the french fries in ketchup and the flip flops (on the side). Lots of other details not visible in the pic- 3D cheeseburger, 3d poptops, compass, a 5'oclock somewhere clock, sand, rocks, shark fins all around the top of the bottom tier (ahem...swimming to the left AND to the right). Palm trees/leaves on wires and inserted into straws. (9" over a 12" cake). TFL!!

Surf shack on beach. 13x9 cake. Wave is rice krispie treats covered in MMF, painted with americolor. Shack, trees, and surfboards are MMF with tylose. Surfboards are hand-painted. Thanks for looking!

I made this cake for a 1 year old's birthday party themed to the movie "Surf's Up." Thanks to tiarra for the inspiration! The cake is half chocolate butter and half yellow butter with buttercream icing. The water is tinted piping gel, sand is sugar, with fondant decorations. It was a big hit at the party and me second ordered cake! Yay!

For my friends daughters 4th bday inspired by subaru. This is my first time making a cake outside of wilton's classes, first time using gumpaste and using confectioner's tools as well as using fondant except on the very first cake that started this all on Mother's Day which you can see on my profile pictures. It was a blast and can't wait to do more, this was also my first paying job!!

This cake is covered with buttercream. The sun and boards are made using fondant. I can not take credit for this design. I saw it on CC however I added my own touch by using molded chocolate for the shells.

I had SOOO much fun with this. Yellow Butter cake with Choco buttercream filling and buttercream frosting. Asked for just a beach/surf theme and just mentioned he grew up in huntington beach ca. Everything is chocolate transfers. It was more fun than anything! Why I first started making cakes. I forget that feeling sometimes.

I made this cake for my brother's birthday. I laminated a picture that was taken of him "fake surfing" and put icing behind it to prop it up a bit. The entire cake is buttercream, with brown sugar and white sugar crystals for the sand.

Made for my grandson's 4th birthday. He said he needed cake and cookies! NFSC with RI and edible markers for the writing. I didn't have a surf board cutter so I had to make one, that's why no two are exactly alike. I still need lots of practice with the RI but my grandson won't notice :) TFL!

This is the cake I made for my chuch's kickoff pool party. I had a lot of trouble getting the bc smooth, plus I had originally planned to do palm trees on top but one of them broke so I ended up making more flowers and just sticking them on top at the last minute. TFL!

A friend of mine son-in-law was in town on his birthday and she ordered this cake because he loves to surf. I made a stencil for the boards and did them a day early to allow for them to dry. The boards in the middle are standing up with the help of skewers, the sand is teddy grahams, shells are fondant. I got the idea from cc, bonucc10.
