This is my first Cake Central cake contest! It is a 12", 9", and a 6" cake that is decorated with: fondant, royal icing, and a lot of love. There are a total of 4 Spiderman faces (one in the front, one in the back, and one on each side of the 12" cake.)

I placed a thin layer of gumpaste over a round ten inch cake. I then painted all of my favorite super heroes onto the cake. I also carved out superman and painted him seperately.

This cake was made by using Wilton's Super Mario Bros. shaped cake pan. Everything is made using buttercream icing. This cake serves around 20.

this was for my son's 8th birthday. i wasn't too thrilled about doing a super mario brothers cake for the third year in a row and as you can tell it really showed. yellow and chocolate pound cake. buttercream with fondant decorations.

This was for a combo Super Bowl/40th Birthday party. My first FBCT. Mii figure was copied after birthday guy's Mii in his Wii. Cake covered in buttercream.

this was my 2nd attempt at fondont. made all the figures ahead of time and put them on the cake that morning. it was 95 degrees out and everything started melting :(

This was for my son's 5th b-day (duh) party. He loves Mario Brothers so I did a 1-up mushroom cake! Dark Choc. 5" round stem and yellow / funfetti cap. Covered in MMF - was a big hit with the kiddies!

Birthday cake for two brothers, 9 and 10. It's my version of the Mario Galaxy cake by DC0630. Base was made with Wilton star pan with black and blue buttercream, striped in bag then smeared while I made my best attempt at smoothing. Ball part was made with Wilton sports ball pan, covered using grass tip. Coins and stars are marshmallow fondant, buttercream flowers were made with star tip then applied after drying. Figures on top and sides (Mario and the electrogoombas) were ordered online. It was my first cake so there are tons of mistakes, but I am still pleased with how it came out and the kids loved it.

Super Mario Cupcakes made for my 3 year old nephew who can't get enough of his nintendo ds and mario games. Vanilla and chocolate cupcakes filled with buttercream and decorated with MMF.

The bottom cake is a 10" round; the top of the mushroom is 1/2 of a ball pan; and the stem of the mushroom is the bottom of the Wilton Giant cupcake with the ridges carved off. All of the characters were made from fondant.

This was another cake I did just for practice. I was unsatisfied with how my stars came out on the last cake, so I decided to try again with a less detailed picture. I am pretty pleased with it, all things considered. I just wish I had done a nicer shell border, but I tried using the proper technique this time and it's more difficult. Plus my frosting for that part was way soft, so that didn't help. Still, I'm getting better.

This cake was inspired by several cakes on this site so many thanks to all of you! 7" and 10" round cakes. Buttercream icing with fondant accents. The figures are gumpaste/fondant. This was my first time making figures and I ran out of time so I used toy figures for Yoshi, the red mushroom, Mario, and Luigi.

This was a dual b-day cake for my husband and niece. The bottom tier is devils food with peanut butter butter cream, the top is white cake with vanilla butter cream. The entire cake is covered with my homemade MM fondant.

I made this cake for my son in law Adam. He asked for his 4 favorite super heros and this is what I came up with. Super heros are color flow, buildings are gum paste all rest mmf. lemon cake with lemon icing. I hope he likes it. Thank you for looking.

Cupcakes made for a Birthday Party. Fondant covered with handmade fondant decoration. I made some fill cupcakes as well that had little coins and stars for decoration to keep the cost down a bit.

This is the first time I've covered a cake with fondant. It was not easy. I wish I would have covered the edge of the cake board with fondant.
