10" bottom covered in B.C, jet is made using a small oval pan and then shaped a bit at the front and back. Wyatt character from kids "Super Why" show is made using 50/50 gumpaste/MMF (week prior to harden) as well as the jets accents. Fun to make for a sweet 2 year old!

Kim Possible strikes her signature pose to say Happy Birthday. Kim Possible was sketched on fondant and then painted in with royal icing. The piping up the sides of the cakes was done in Kim Possible's daytime, school cheerleader colours. The text is done in dark chocolate fondant, in Kim Possible font and green text.

My 3 year old son asked for this cake, so I decided to give it a go. All his friends loved it when the head had to come off. The head was a styrofoam wig head covered in butter cream icing. Chocolate cake with chocolate filling was his chest and his shoulders were french vanilla.

This is a Yoda cake I made for my neighbor boy's 7th birthday. It's a "Wildberry" cake with buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant. Rice crispy treats were used to make the head and shoulders, while the face/hands/ears are all formed from the marshmallow fondant. The base of the lightsaber is made of gumpaste, and the light part of the light saber is a glowstick. I know he would have made more sense in the Star Wars contest, but I just found this site--and the cake is from last weekend!

Yellow cake with Red, White & Blue Sprinkles. Covered with Buttercream Icing. Made with the Wilton Superman pan. I don't like doing the stars on character pans so I covered the face & shield with fondant and painted the details with gel colors. I used the Viva method to smooth the buttercream on his suit & cape.

I made this cake for my friend's son's 3rd Birthday. They were visiting from Norway so the text at the bottom is Happy Birthday in Norwegian. The head of the mushroom is made from half a ball pan and the stalk was made from three layers of trimmed 6" round cake. The cake on the bottom depicts a backdrop of a classic super Mario level. All detail was done with modeling paste and fondant.

This cake was my very first cake. It was for a friend's small wedding. The cake itself is a two layer cherry chip cake covered in fondant drawn to look like mario bricks. The figures on top are marzipan and edible except for the princess' veil. The mushrooms are made of marzipan with piped dots, and the question blocks are fondant with question marks drawn on with food marker. The pipe base is made of styrofoam that I covered with green marzipan I had colored, which explains why it looks so lumpy and bumpy. Had I known what I know now about fondant being much easier to cover an object with than marzipan it would have probably looked much better..But it was my first cake, so I was proud :)

Yellow cake w/ buttercream icing and oreo as the dirt. I made this cake for my son's birthday a few weeks ago. I almost forgot how fun it was to decorate a cake. I haven't done it in almost 10 years. I had to watch videos on how to decorate with buttercream and get it smooth since I couldn't remember how to work with it. It's not perfect but my son liked it so it was all worth it! This is my first upload and hopefully not the last! Thanks for looking!

My first cupcake cake. for my sons birthday this year. basic yellow cupcake recipe and butter cream frosting for the base. The best part about the decoration was the mechanical spiderman soaring around the tower after he blew out the candles. I know its not as fancy as the other cakes, what the hey :)

Super Hero busting through the cupcake to save "your" world. He could be any hero your imagination chooses. Great for a boys/children's costume party. All handmade fondant topper.

Cake weighed nearly 30 pounds and was almost three feet tall. We felt we could fight crime with it once it was finally finished since it looked so real! The kids loved tearing it apart once the time had come to eat him. We fed about 25 people with the cake and had lots of leftovers. It was so much fun for us and our son!

Greetings, I have been a lover of super heroes for over 40 years. So, when I saw the contest - I was excited. What should I do - Superman, Spiderman, Ironman - oh so many. Then, my daughter said what about SPAWN. Just so you know SPAWN is a super heroe. He may have started out a little rough, but then he got his act together and started helping people. This cake is VERY heavy - it has about 15 pounds of fondant alone and took a total of around 15 hours. The SPAWN figure is made of rice krispy treats and the masoleum is cake w/fondant. Everything else is fondant well except the little bats and greenery. I hope you all enjoy it and I have many other photos, if anyone is interested. The photos don't do it justice.

Mushroom is WSC with vanilla buttercream. Bottom layers are also WSC with strawberry mousse filling. Inspired by lots of cakes on CC. The birthday boy was very happy with it. He loves the mushroom people from the game.
