I made this for a picnic at work. It's a strawberry cake with chocolate chips (the seeds) with BC icing. Everyone was suprised when they cut it and it looked like watermelon under the icing.

This is just the top tier of the Summer Daze whimsy cake in the WBH book. I did it for a girl scout fundraiser auction and they told me when I dropped it off they were going to put it in the call out auction rather than the silent acution so that made me feel good. Plus the council leader asked me if I would make a cake for a troop sometime and I said of course. : ) Chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling and italian meringue buttercream. Chocolate runouts.

This is my first "paid" cake. My customers daughter helped "design" the cake. She likes to draw faceless people, hence the girls have no facial features. The cake is buttercream with MMF people and towels.

This is one on my first cakes and I made it really fast. Even though it is really messy, I still like it. If you try this one, let the jello set a little before pouring it in to the "pool" and make sure you line it with lots of icing first! You can see where some of the jello tried to escape between layers!

My sister saw a flip flop cake in a magazine and called me to make one for her daughter's 6th birthday party. August in the South is HOT and the icing ran a little during the 1.5 hour trip to my sister's.

I made the class for my second Wilton 1 course class but we didn't ice our cakes in class so I went home and did it at 11pm! I got tired and stopped caring especially since my icing was sooooo soft and didn't cooperate well! Oh well, just for practice! The cake was a lemon cake with buttercream and filled with a fresh strawberry filling. Very moist and yummy!

This was done for a girl's pool party. When her mom picked the cake up, she could hardly contain her happiness with the look of the cake. It's a great feeling when that happens! The water was piping gel tinted blue, and the rope across the pool was made with smarties. The rest is buttercream icing.
