My not so successful attempt at a flip flop cake. I guess you could say it was a flop :( . Boy did I have trouble with these. The yellow "flip flops" are white cake with raspberry filling and buttercream. The brown "flip flops" are chocolate cake with peanutbutter buttercream filling and Wilton cocoa candy melts poured over the top.

The bride to be wanted all the seasons... this is what I came up with. Christine and her wedding party came over and decorated the cookies she had me make. I rolled the buttercream and they adhered and decorated with royal icing. The cookies were attached to ducks of every season. I incorporated the ducks into the cakes!

Yellow fondant petals complete the buttercream center. Butterfly accent was purchased and added as a finishing touch. There is a ten inch cake base and the buttercream center of the sunflower is an additional round cake mounted on top.

Procrastination is an ugly thing, threw it together in about 3-4 hours. Everyone loved it anyways--even lopsided, bulging, and falling apart. Don't they always? P.S. This was the "good" side. :) Strawberry cake (doctored mix from here), Cheesecake filling. Nilla Wafer, Graham Cracker, and brown sugar sand. MMF and Buttercream. Shells are molded white chocolate merckens. Made for the "Summer Birthdays" party our family throws every year.

This was my first paid cake! I loved making it. The only non edible items on there cake were the beach balls. This is also the first time I had worked with Fondant (thats what the kids & noodles are made out of). It was a Dark Chocolate Fudge cake with Buttercream filling & icing. They loved it.

Made for a friend's little girl's 12th b-day. Just wanted to post my version fo the flip flop cake too. Thanks cc members for all the inspiration. One was a white with lemon filling and the other was choc with choc pudding both decorated in bc. The sand is graham cracker crumbs with sprinkles to some shine.

This is a 1/4 sheet with bc icing. The green is airburshed on, and the rest is just bc. I wasn't sure how this would turn out, but in the end I love it. thanks for looking Donna PS The green is really bright in real life, the pic got dark!

Made this for a band party the other day. If I made this cake again, I would NOT use that serving platter, it's hard to get the stars down on the cake at such a weird angle, and I would have made another batch of frosting. I don't know who believes that whole "1batch covers and fills 2 8-ich rounds easy" thing but it's NOT TRUE. I didn't even have enough to frost underneath the stars like you should have normally. I was literally SCRAPING frosting from my bowl trying to get the last 1/4 finished. =(

A 3 tier wedding cake that served 130 people. The cake was adorned with fresh daisies, the brides favorite flower. The top two tiers were lemon cake, one tier with lemon filling, the other with rasberry filling. The base was a spice cake with a cream cheese filling

Inspired from Sugar Creations cute pool party cake! Decorated in mmf with brown sugar for sand. I wanted an occasion to make a big cake so I made this for our summer vacation. I attempted fondant figures for the first time and tried to make them look like my little girls!
