This was the first cake my husband and I made. It was for my parents when they bought a new house and moved. Their "last packed bag". TFL! I have more pictures, but can't figure out how to resize them. Will keep trying! So inspired by CC and all the helpful tips!

I made this cake for a coworker who loves to travel. All fondant. Stickers are edible images. I saw a beautiful suitcase cake here by DianeLM and knew that it would be perfect for her. Close up of the suitcase

Thank you DianeLM for the inspiration, mine is not even close to as lovely as your design! Jello and marshmallow fondant, gumpaste gromats and tag. Travel Doc is just printed on paper. Fun cake! My husband is taking in to work for a gal that is moving to N.C.

This cake is a 1/2 sheet cake x 3 buttermilk Devil's Food chocolate with cream cheese and whipped cream filling. All decorations are MMF. NO!! I didn't choose the color. It represents something special for the family of a couple celebrating 40 years of marriage. The couple arrived in the US from Spain with just one suitcase in 1968. All the decorations around the suitcase, including the rice krispie book, represents different milestones in their lives. I will post seperate pics of a few of the items.

Going away cake for a couple of co-workers. Gumpaste accents covered with gold luster dust. Stickers are edible images. Cake was butter/almond and chocolate.

Made for my brother's birthday. We did a mystery on a cruise theme and this was the 'Captains' travel case. Covered in chocolate fondant with fondant buckle accents painted with green and gold luster dust

This was a cake for my roommate that I made for her graduation.. it meant a lot to me because she has really supported me through my cake making and supports of dreams of one day opening my own place. Suitcase - WASC with raspberry and chocolate (pettice) fondant, books - chocolate cake with raspberry and chocolate and white fondant (pettice), world was a styrofoam ball with Royal icing ocean and fondant land, grad hat was chocolate fondant spray painted black. Buckles are gumpaste.

A quick cake I made for my sister last year before she left for her semester abroad. She went to London, which is why there is a flag of England on the suitcase. Pink is her favorite color, and also actually the color of her suitcase.

Suitcase cake. Boy these are very popular. I have two more next week. Cake is butter/almond and chocolate. Labels are printable. Satin Ice fondant covers the top and was used for the detailing on the cake. Aztec Gold luster dust.

Chocolate cake with oreo buttercream and chocolate mmf........made this over the weekend for my daughter and son who came home from Cali and Florida. I'm still in the beginner's stage, so it's just ok........but I want to thank clever-squirrel and other CC'ers who gave me the inspiration! I am learning SO much from all of you!

Made for a friend and her family who are relocating to Brazil. Top cake is all vanilla, bottom is chcolate, IMBC and red raspberry filling. All fondant.

This cake was for a friend of my daughter's that was migrating to Florida. She wanted a Jamaican theme so I made this suitcase with the colors of the Jamaican Flag, Black, Green and Gold. He loved it. Inspiration from this site.

Only middle suitcase has a cake inside. Bottom and top are fake. Bride wanted to keep topper with figures forever! She was very excided with her cake! First idea came from Lindy Smiths site, she has a similar (better than mine ofcource) into there!

Luggage cake. First time. Not too bad but need to do my fondant thicker. Thanks to all those great artists on cake central that do really great jobs. To name a few that their pictures helped me is Sampy, Scarlett 9920 and Clever-squirrel. One day my cakes will look almost as good as yours.!

White cake w/ MMF covering and accents. Got inspiration from a wonderful cake by katharry. I feel like my cake is missing something..probably should have put a fondant figure on top! Fondant sticker on case hand-painted, represents the college my cousin will be attending. TFL!

This cake was made for my daugther's school for their Book Fair which was titled "Take A Reading Road Trip". The cake is covered with buttercream and decorated with fondant.. This was my first attempt with this type of cake.
