This cake gave me fits from the stacking to the chocolate. It didn't come out as I had wanted and I was glad to just finish it. Bah!

It's ugly- but it was just to test some recipes. Loved the cake recipe- white cake on CC- hated the filling- got it from baking911 chocolate fudge- but was too sweet for us.

I didn't really take my time with this for assorted reasons and it shows. I think my accents are too thick and either my wire is too thick or my accents were too heavy & thick, they were pulling down the wire, I think it was a combination of both. Any advice, feel free....

Butter cake with vanilla buttercream frosting for the grand opening of a sci fi shop. My first FBCT. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out but I think the transfer is a little too thick.

This is now my most favorite cake of mine! The bottom and top tiers are pink gingham, with fondant hanging stars and fondant booties. The booties were a big hit at the shower. I wrote the date, 7-30-06, on the side of one of the booties. Also white clouds and a sleeping baby on top. Oh, and the verse around the middle cake matched the invititations, "Tiny Yawns & Sleepy Sighs....Nursery Rhymes & Lullabies...."

This is my final cake for the Wilton Course 3. My instructor was pretty easy going so we were allowed to pretty much do whatever we wanted at long as we were utilizing what we had learned in the 3 courses. All of the decorations are MMF.

I've only been doing this for a few months. This was my first time sculpting with fondant. I thought it would be hard to sculpt a baby, but it was the easiest thing about the cake. Thank you Misdawn...it was her cake that inspired me to make this one even though I got a little carried away with the clouds! Everyone at the baby shower loved it. I used BC on the cake and Royal Icing stars. Thanks everyone for all your beautiful cakes that continously inspire me to keep creating!!!

My 3 year old niece insisted on a Rainbow Dash "My Little Pony" birthday cake, so I used the Care Bears cake from the Wilton 2006 Yearbook and adapted it to Ponies! The cake is covered in MMF with a MMF rainbow (rolled into "snakes" and "glued" with royal icing), stars, hearts, and sunshine. The clouds are royal icing to give everything a little more support.
My niece couldn't take her eyes off the cake once she saw it!! And I do have to admit, this is my absolute favorite cake I have done yet!

A father contacted me to do his daughter's Bat Mitzvah cake. Not being Jewish I explained the cake would not be kosher. Being a person grounded in God, though, I did understand what a blessed event this is in a young person's life before God. The girl's father requested a cake with clowns and a circus theme. In reverence to the occasion, the father and I came to a more mutually agreed theme. Candles with foil "skirts" were placed on the top to accommodate the ceremonial lighting & prayers of dedication.

I wanted to do something fantastic and new for the 4th and found some variations of this cake. I had never worked with layers before and made this one six layers high! It has a multicolored inside (see other picture). The stars and stripes are AirHeads. They are very difficult to mold into stars. It worked barely with a combination of heating them, beating them and cursing at them lol. The little candy stars I found in a superman candy dispenser and the rim of the hat is just an cardboard circle with icing.
