Everything you need is at your local hardware store. It can be personalized and made as big or little as you want! The top tier I usually have a cake on so the nut and bar is covered (after I cover it with shelf liner so the food doesn't touch it). If you aren't doing a cake on top, you can usually find a creative way to camoflauge it. One more thing my dear hubby pointed out I didn't include in the picture, you should put a washer on top and bottom so the nut does not eat into the wood!

A display cake for a recent wedding show. Molds used to create appliques that were hand painted in silver with a bead border. The topper was from my wedding 15 years ago.

The bride wanted a mini wedding cake (2 exactly)....to match her color scheme and 250 cupcakes. We ended up making 6 cupcake stands to hold all the cupcakes and created 2 mini wedding cakes for her and the groom.

These were made for a 1 year old girl. Elmo cupcakes were made from modeling chocolate. I made the cake stand myself using heavy posterboard, crepe paper & styrofoam noodles.

A 6" rich fruit cake covered in marzipan and sugarpaste and decorated with a modelling paste bow & flower. Also 100 cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and modelling paste daisies. The fruit cake was made by me almost 2 years ago for the top tier of the clients wedding cake and has been recovered for their daughter's 1st birthday and christening.

This cake was made for my children's halloween party at our home. I saw this cake stand couldn't resist using it as inspiration. Sorry about the picture quality. I totally forgot to take a picture before the party began. I did my best to crop the guests in order to see the cake...lol
