First non-stacked wedding cake - so much easier to do!! i dont like the look of them but they keep my sanity! i loath covering 5 inch high tiers so these flatter cakes are so much easier for me and not scary with stacking, etc - definitly the way to go. sugar paperwhites and forgetmenots. bride provided the topper.

I used my favorite NFSC recipe, with royal icing in orange and green, and some sugar crystals in orange. yummm!! The cookie cutters were from Williams - Sonoma. There are two pieces so the shapes fit together and stand up like a paper doll.

This was for my son's First Holy Communion. He prefers buttercream over fondant, but my expertise is in fondant. It's not too bad though. All of the crosses are chocolate. I made the stand. The cake is peanut butter cake with chocolate filling and frosting. The cupcakes are double chocolate and yellow with strawberry filling.

This cake was made for my oldest daughter's confirmation. It sat on the top tier of a cupcake stand that held 100 cupcakes. I had planned to make individual flowers for each cupcake, but ran out of time! Thanks to my wonderful father for building the stand (and to Alias woman for the idea.)

This is a bridal shower I put on this weekend and the cakes were my gift. Actually the stands are my gift too! They are pillar candle holders from Target, and then stoneware plates from Walmart. And I added the ribbon. I had the worst time trying to come up with a design (didn't want them to match the wedding cake) so I did it as I went, and I wasn't really pleased with how they turned out but nobody knew what was in my head so they liked them fine. The smaller cake is the one that got the air bubble, but it waited until after I served to bulge, thankfully.

I made this for a Pumpkin Decorating contest at work. Our pumpkin was the Swedish Chef from the Muppets and we had him set up to look he was decorating a cake and this was in front of him!

I used the Wilton Stand Up Bear pan and made the pumpkin out of fondant. I saw the idea for the ghosts on here and just loved it! Ghosts are just dum-dum lollipops with a circle of fondant draped over it to resemble a ghost! Thanks for looking!

This is a modified version of a very popular stand here on CC. My Dad and I had a lot of fun building it. It is decorated to match a jungle theme baby shower. The cupcake wraps were cut out of animal print scrapbook paper and filled with chocolate, vanilla, banana, and strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese and chocolate cream cheese icing.

My neice's cake features logos from her high schools and the University of Delaware she'll attend this fall. She'll study archaeology, loves Shane Victorino, and knows how to belly dance! Finally, edible images of photos of her growing up were provided by my sister. The layers were chocolate chip, pineapple-carrot, lemon, and dark chocolate fudge sour cream cake. Everyone loved it! This was my first time using Bronwen Weber's stand so I thought you might like to see a little bit about how it goes together. Thanks for looking!

A generous neighbour(thanks SR!) custom made this for me. All made of 1/2" wood, PVC tubing and a long screw with a flat head that goes all the way to the small nut underneath. It all comes apart easily for transport and storage. The sizes are 8", 12", 16" and 20" and holds 100 cupcakes comfortably. I added a lace border and voila!
