This dinosaur is made from the Stand-up Cuddly Bear Pan. Orange candy melts were used to make the spikes. Dino sits atop a 12" round single layer iced smooth with buttercream. Matching 6" round smash cake. This was a really fun cake to do. Design came from the Wilton Dinosaur but adjusted the colors to fit theme.

An amalgamation of all my mothers day cakes put together for photographing before dividing them up. top two tier cake is my mothers day lunch cake (8"6" tiers -white choc blueberry and lemon lime mud- in white choc ganache tinted pink, gumpaste embossed decoration, hand made topper from beads) cuppies were for my sons kinda mothers day morning tea table centerpieces (dislpayed on stands as in other pics) boxed cakes were for my daughter's teacher to say thanks for being so fantastic and like a surrogate mum to all the little preppies (cuppies were blueberry whote choc mud with BC icing and gumpaste embossed circles or dregrees/cachous)

I made this for Mother's Day. I got the idea for this pattern from a ribbon. I've seen this style cake/cupcakes on this site...so I decided to give it a go. BC and MMF. I made the stand. TFL!

I made this cake for all the children in my child's pre-school class. They took one day to celebrate all the childrens' birthdays. I used the footed Wilton cake stand. The bottom layer was white cake with chocolate buttercream filling. The top 2 small cakes were choclate cake dipped in tinted chocolate. Covered in sprinkles and used the Wilton candles. I used a fondant form for the letters. In retrospect, I would have used smaller letters. But otherwise it turned out okay.

I used the stand-up bear pan for Cookie Monster. Removed the ears covered them in royal icing and placed them as the eyes. Chocolate cake with cream cheese icing. Used a cookie/lollipop stick for the balloon. And of course, chocolate chip cooookies!

This is a french vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting. The piping in done with stiff buttercream. The "lights" at the bottom are actually glass blocks lite from behind. The ribbon border and fresh flowers finish the details.

This is a cupcake tower I made for an open house wedding reception my husband's family threw for us in his hometown. There was supposed to be a 6" cake on the top that was like the one we had at the wedding, but for some reason the cake wasn't fully baked when I took it out of the oven and it was a big mess! Since I didn't have enough time to bake another one, I just put the cake topper on the top of the tower. Between my husband and I, we came up with the construction for the actual tower.

This is my first wedding cake, made for my brother's wedding. I would not have been able to complete this without the generous help of Jennifer Dontz. Not only did she guide me with the design, she helped me order supplies and answered many questions. I think I watched her video about 20 times during the decorating. No one in the house was allowed near the tv that morning!

The cakes are covered in chocolate fondant. The pearls and heart border are chocolate clay. Daisies are gumpaste, my first time working with it. (I need a LOT more practice!) I originally made the daisies with large centers, then decided they needed smaller ones, so made a new batch. While setting up the cake I realized I needed more flowers, so ended up having to use both. Well, at least Gerberas come with different sized centers. Here's the link to the image I used for flower ideas.

6/10/14, serves 148. BC choc icing with gray fondant circles, dusted with pearl luster dust. I'd done this design on dummies, knowing a real cake would be a challenge. The middle tier has a cardboard on top of the cake (dowels in the cake), then I iced the whole thing, covered the cardboard. The silver stand is supported on top of the cardboard. Ribbon around base of cake with silver danglies. Bottom tier is on a 2" styrofoam base to elevate it so the danglies will "dangle"! Tucked the tulle around the base to hide the styrofoam.

a VERY last minute order (like 7 days beorfe the big day last minute!!) aparently (from what i could gather) a family friend was supposed to make the cake but then freaked out and there was a mad dash to find soemone to do it and of course i felt bad so i squeezed it in lol! lucky it was a simple design, fondant topped with silk flowers (lucky i had some left over form another cake i had just made) and all painted in my super white pearl lustre (yes i am aware i am obsessed lol) satin ribbon border and bow (when i was told that they wanted they bow left so long i was really doubtfull and thought it would look stupid!! but i totally admit to being wrong i think it looked really elegant!!!) diamonte buckle in the bow, diamonte initials (non edible) and sitting on one of my handmade stands :-)

I made this cake for a graduation cake. Combo of others here on cc's ideas. The top is a 8" double layer white cake. Iced in buttercream and marhsmallow fondant. The bows are made out of 50/50 mmf gumpaste. The shoe was made using the pattern here on cc and gumpaste/mmf mixture. The cupcakes were chocolate with buttercream and mmf.

I used the stand up bear pan for the Elmo. I had to cut off the ears and face. I think next time I will cut the upper part of the head off too. This would give it a more oval look. All buttercream except the eyes, ribbon and the #1. And of course a smash cake for the baby.

This is what my DH made for me.
He still has to stain and clear coat it.
But I think he did a good job

My MIL used to make this cake for my husband every year. She passed the pan down to me, so I made him one for his birthday. :o) I think we'll stick to a regular cake next year. As he says, "The cake to icing ratio just isn't right." We like our icing around here.

This was fun! It was my first time building a cupcake stand, my first wedding, and my first large cupcake order (I usually only do fondant covered cakes..). I stupidly allowed 5 different flavors... which was not a fun task when it came to making the frostings/fillings.

This cake was for my very best friend's son's 3rd birthday. It was VERY last minute.. as she asked me to do it the day before the party.. which happened to be the same day I was doing 150 cupcakes for a wedding! I made the cupcake stand out of cardboard rounds and ribbon. The 3 is Nick Lodge's gumpaste and the rest is satin ice fondant.

This was done to match the schools colors. It was a pre-prom get together. Anyways, they asked for a LOT of the school colors (navy and red) but wanted the cupcake icing white, so this is what I came up with. The cupcakes are topped with the school logo (RR) done in chocolate and edible glitter. (This was for a girl and her friends) I saw the cupcake stand on cakejournal, but changed it up a little. Rather than gluing everything together, we poked a hole through the exact middle of every piece and slid everything onto a thick dowel. This made the stand really solid, but able to take apart to customize and rent. :) Cupcakes were: Top 2 tiers: Carrot Cake with baked cream cheese filling, Next tier: Espresso Cake, Bottom Tier: Strawberry cupcakes with preserves fillings. TFL!!!

Not a great photo, but the bowling alley was dark for cosmic bowling and I forgot to take photos before it was picked up. Buttercream on cupcakes with white chocolate pins and balls. Little girl on topper is fondant with tylose powder. First time putting real ribbon on a cake and I didn't attach it right. You could see the icing I used for glue. I will definitely do it differently next time. My friend's husband made my stand. 1/2 in. plywood rounds and the center supports are 6in wooden table legs I found at Home Depot.

The train is not cake. The flat bed cars are styrofoam covered in fondant and the engine is RCT. So it was basically a cupcake stand.

Monsters are fun! This was for a 5-year-olds b-day. New craze: photos from Oriental Trading for inspiration. Cake body was 2 9" layers with sugar cookie inbetween; head was top of giant cupcake. Flavor was Lorann bubble-gum, which kids and adults alike LOVED! Buttercream frosting with fondant accents.
