12", 10", 7", and 5" square cakes, iced in buttercream and slightly offset tiers. Hard to tell, but there was a scroll pattern at the top side of the cake, and back side bottom of the cake (similar to one in my gallery, done in red).

This cake was made for a couple who was married for 27 years and divorced for 8 months and remarried again. They asked me to make the cake... it is butter cake with almond buttercream. Everyone loved it.

I hesitated putting this cake in my album, because I didn't like that the bottom tier started to bulge out. Guess I needed to dowel more and use less filling. The icing is Pastry Pride. The silver dragees took forever to place on the cake!

This picture is too far away to see detail but I loved how the linen was gathered all around the bottom. The resort had it all done. I put the cake in place and arranged the flowers..A piece of cake. [ha ha]

I love love love this cake. Fondant (yellow placed like normal first then white tops on that) with painted flowers (used airbrush color and a brush) outlined (yes, its supposed to be sloppy-ish) in royal icing. Sugarpaste fantasy flowers on the top.

Ribbon is actually "latte" color. Similar to the black-ribboned cake I did. What's different: top tier is square instead of a different shape (round); Instead of tying the ribbon around the top tier, I wrapped ribbon around the base, then made a bow & pinned it to the front ribbon. The weight of the straight pin pulled on the ribbon but a dollop of BC held it in place. Bottom tier is styrofoam, 12" middle; 8" top. All BC w/ edible pearls on tiers. Pic taken before delivery, so no flowers or topper yet.

I had BIG shoes to fill trying wedding cakes for the first time...My mom had been making wedding cakes since before I was born! I'm now 27! Square white cake with ivory buttercream and dusty purple roses in various shades. I even made the cake topper! I was so mad that my roses didn't look better but everyone loved it!

Fondant and butter cream icing, ribbon. This was my very first try at fondant. I'm learning, but I sure had a good time. My other picture is a little leftover cake that I played with. Am looking forward to trying again.

Another of a very popular design for me; made for hubby's niece's wedding. 16" styrofoam base with a 14/10/6. Added sprays of pearls among the flowers. On the far right are a couple of flowers and I used a few gold painted pine cones that were leftover from the table decorations. Transported the bottom 3 (silver stand, styrofoam and 14" cake) all in one pieces. Even tho' it was styrofoam, it was still heavy!! It was my gift to the bride and groom. for 150 guests at a country club.

I am very proud of this cake. The chocolate curls nearly killed me. Thanks to Nati for the great tutorial. The 2 brides loved the cake, and I got lots of complements. We attended the wedding as we are friends of the couple.
