My first real batch of buttercream icing with no problems this time Wooohoo, and 13x9 cake , 2 (8in )round cakes & the bear all made with pound cake,

I offered to make my daughter a candy apple cake, she insisted she wanted an eyeball so that's what she got! Inside it was layered with red velvet and apple butterscotch cake with buttercream filling. Big hit with the kids at school :)

Cake made for my son's Class Halloween Party. We named the spider "En and the ghost Boo so we could manage a decent name for the cake :). Handcarved Orange cake and devil's food chocolate layers are alternating in both Frank and Boo. "En is orange cake with chocolate oreo cookie head. Cakes are all buttercream with fondant and candy accents - they are 100% edible. My son was so proud of "his cake" to share with his class.

Birthday cake for my lovely nephew Kyle. Acknowledgements to Debbie Brown who I think is great for her instruction on modelling characters! But her guidance on icing the cake I found to be very difficult and I am not particularly happy with the end result but I know it will not bother Kyle one little bit. LOL

This was for a little boy who is turning 11 on Halloween. He wanted something gross, scary, creepy, weird, etc. etc. This is what I came up with. The bottom tier is a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream. The top tier is white cake with vanilla buttercream. The dirt is ground up oreos (the ones with the fudge filling). The fingers were cookies, I found the recipe on CC. The bugs, eyes, ears, and mouth were made from fondant. I used coconut flakes that I dyed brown for the eyebrows. The blood was piping gel tinted reddish brown. It was a hit! I'm just glad to get it out of my kitchen because it scared me more everytime I saw it!

I made this cake for a special Birthday girl. Her mom wanted me to incorporate Halloween and bowling. They were having a "cosmic bowling" party, and the guests all dressed up in their spookiest Halloween costumes. Aside from the witches, SMALL pumpkins, and "ghost pins", the entire three layers are all cake, and the bowling alley is cake as well. I really enjoyed doing this cake. This was my SECOND cake I made for profit. I hand painted a lot of this, aside from the two bottom tiers that were covered in fondant.
