My nephew wanted Spongebob but I wanted to do s/t different- krabby patties were HUGE hit- Lemon cake, and everything is rolled MMF except for icing on krabby patty buns (BC). And register buttons are jujubes with numbers/food items etched on with black colour paste and a needle . krabby patty buns made with minicupcake pan. One boy had allergies so I made him 4 krabby patties coloured darker (not shown)

This was one of my first topsy turvy cakes so my fondant work was not that great, but this is still one of my favorite cakes of all times. I called it Spongeberry Dorradumpling. It was for my daughter’s third birthday – she is now about to turn 6…where does the time go. She couldn't decide between Spongebob, Dora and Strawberry Shortcake or Apple Dumpling. So – I gave them all to her. The Strawberry Shortcake and Apple Dumpling figurines were mine from 27 years ago.

This is a white cake with buttercream frosting. The characters and wording were done by piping melted chocolate (I've been hooked on this technique since getting The Whimsical Bakehouse cookbook . . . I love it!)

The cake did not end up tasting as I had hoped . . . but I learned my lesson that I always need to test each recipe before making it for someone else. You'd think I would have known that ! Oh well . . . live and learn.

This is a chocolate chip cookie cake. I used buttercream for the sand, writing, and border. Spongebob, his boat, and the sea coral were done with piped melted chocolate (I'm obsessed with this technique ever since purchasing my Whimsical Bakehouse cookbook!)

Iced in buttercream with hand molded fondx characters, Wilton candy melt shells and seaweed. Customer loved it but I hate doing these "sheet" cakes. Too much canvas to work with. I guess I need to be more creative.

For my daughter's birthday. It's just a butter cake with buttercream icing. Bubbles on the side. And some kid at the party raked his finger through the front-side. Oh well. It's not the best but I only have a couple hours before the party to get this done. YIKES! :D

Birthday cakes for two little sisters. Figures are done in color flow. They are actually standing up a little so the writing really isn't covered up. Really...

Wow, this cake was a lot of work. It's the biggest party cake I've done (feeds 50). Chocolate Cake with oreo cream filling, and Bavarian Yellow cake with whipped chocolate ganache. Characters are color flow. Cakes covered in mmf and dusted with white shimmer. Chocolates are luster dusted with gold, silver and super pearl. Sea weed and flowers are royal icing....had a lot of fun with this one. Inspiration came from sugarshack...much thanks to all my cc friends who helped with all my silly Q's.

Chocolate cake, buttercream icing. Carved the cake out of 1/2 sheet cake. First time ever carving a cake. I drew the pattern, I thought it looked okay. Then my sons girlfriend said the arms aren't like that they are like this. She was a big help.

I made this cake using a variety of items and modeled it after a photo I saw online. The cake wasn't made for a child, actually for a 26 year old! A child at heart.
