Everyone has that cake that doesn't go right...this is mine! It's just a basic yellow chiffon with whipped ganache filling stacked to form a building. Spiderman is fondant.

I am new to cake decorating and this is my first real cake that I made, 2 tier. Marbled blue and white fondant on the bottom with fondant street scenes.Notice the street and curb. Marbled black(grey) and white fondant for the top, everthing else in buttercream and of course my sons toys for alittle added help. I was very proud of myself. Of course I noticed all of my flaws.

This was for my son's 7th birthday yesterday. He loves spiderman. Bottom is a dummy, middle is 10" yellow with vanilla pudding filling, and top is 8" chocolate with choco buttercream filling. All covered in buttercream, royal icing buildings, webs, and letters. Spiderman is actually toothbrush holder. I had fun doing this one!! Thanks to you C.C.ers for some great inspiration! Thanks for looking!!!

This cake was a little bit of a challenge because when I made this I didn't know anything about fondant or gumpaste and had never used royal icing. Everything is made from buttercream frosting and CHOCOLATE. Yes, the buildings are all white chocolate which was very yummy - but we had my sons party at the park and we live in Arizona.. SO.. chocolate and AZ heat (even in October) it had started to droop before we ate it.

Cake shoulders covered with fondant. Wolverine's head is a man's styrofoam head painted with glow in the dark paint and sheet foam cut out for his mask. Wolverine's head glows in the dark through his mask! Claws are carved and painted to look like the knives coming out of his fists. My 8 year old nephew was the envy of the party!

Used the Wilton Spiderman Pan, and a sheet cake cut down into shapes of buildings. The webs are white chocolate. The one webbing by the arm stands 3 inches from the cake.

This cake was done in the new spiderman pan, but my dh and I thought that it was too small and so we layered it onto a 1/4 sheet cake. Worked out really nice!!!! It's all buttercream icing on a white cakes.

I made this cake this weekend also, this is the infamous cake that I was worried about posting because it had Walmart and Chuck E Chesse in it. I did paint Chuck E Chesse and Spiderman myself. This was part of the gift for my nephew/godson. Each cake is covered in fondant and all the decorations were all hand made. the road was fondant and that signs the stop light were gumpaste, again all hand made. I will post the cakes separately

These are the pieces that I used on my nephew's Spiderman Town. Spiderman was made with half fondant half gumpaste, and Chuck E Cheese was just Gumpaste. I did these a bit like the FBCT, I only did the outline in black and transfered it onto the dried pieces. Once transfered I painted them in with thinned out (with vanilla) icing colors. I let the peices dry for a little over a week seeing that spiderman was thick.
If you need better instructions on how I transfered the images feeel free to pm me.

This is the final prduct of 2 weeks of work. Making the cookie cutters, doing the cookies (GOD LOVE all you cookie makers!) then the 3 cakes (that was the easiest part!) I also did the star lollipops. I got the insperation for this cake from the 2007 Wilton Yearbook. Each cake is a different flavor (chocolate, classic yellow, and funfetti). The buildings are NFSC with royal. I blurred out my sons name (I have issues with my kids names on the internet :P) but those were also done with NFSC and RI.

Inspired by many of the great cakes here, so if it looks familiar to you, thank you! Spidey and the Goblin are toys, buildings are fondant, sign is paper held up with skewers. I think this was my favorite cake this weekend. I did the webbing with piping gel, but it was a little too runny. Next time I'll use BC!
