I made this cake for my step sons 5th birthday. All b/c and the spiderman is made of milk chocolate. Cake is Chocolate with raspberry chocolate b/c. I had buildings and more web, but it all came crashing down! :( I saved Spiderman and tried to repair as best as I could.....But still lots of fun making it.

Do you ever take a cake 1 step too far and wish you hadn't? This cake looked so much cooler before I put the white '5's on the bottom red section. :( I do still like it, just wish I had stopped a little sooner! LOL

I finally did it!!!!!!! It took a lot of planning, but I pulled it off for my good friend's little boy turning 4 yrs. old. You should have seen the look on his face. I made the cake using the instructions that I found on someone else cake that they had done like this, THANKS for posting it. This cake was the hit of the party. Wig head used for the head.

This is my first buttercream transfer. I was disappointed with the blue. I couldn't get it the right shade. Other than that, I was really happy with the transfer.

The Spiderman is a stuffed Marvel Comets toy, I based the cake on, I was going for a 3-D look :o)

The cup cakes are chocolate fudge cake, with a cream cheese, white chocolate, coolwhip filling, frosted with Cream Cheese icing.

I made this for my godson's 5th birthday. The design is from a Wilton yearbook (2005?). I made the buildings out of chocolate melts. The bottom is chocolate cake with bc filling. The top is 4 layers alternating chocolate and vanilla with cookies and cream filling.

For my grandson's 4th b/d on the 15th. I was so disappointed with this cake. It was suppose to be covered with blue fondant and made to look like a brick wall...fondant wouldn't act right. Then, I was going to do some buildings and the Bugle Office and webbing on a dummy 10" but when I tried to melt the candy in microwave, they wouldn't melt. Nothing went right with this cake. I wanted to make his cake really special and failed (cry); but he was really excited and that made me feel a little better.

Did this for my son's 4th birthday. He was over the moon with this cake. He is now 6 and won't hear anything about Spiderman. It is just Yugioh and Power Rangers now. Kid they are amazing.

This is a common one on CC, I loved it and had been wanting to give it a try. It was my first paid cake and the customer loved it. It was very fun and I wouldn't mind doing it again. I used the instructions from LISA at http://frostingfun.blogspot.com/

Just a character cake but you should have seen the look on my 3-year-old's face. Pricesless. I actually underestimated this cake. Figured I could knock it out in no time but was up all night decorating it. The webbing was so intricate and I had to pipe the tiniest little stars in between.

5",8", 10" tiers. Used buttercream, fondant, royal icing and chocolate clay. All edible with the exception of the hot wheels at the bottom. I tried alot of new techniques on this cake, and made some awful mistakes, but learned alot and over all, I am pretty pleased. I dont like airbrushed color from the wilton cans. This was for an adult who loved superheros as a kid. I added comics to the sides of the cake support just for kicks.

2nd FBCT. Chocolate cake covered in BC. Only did spiderman as FBCT instead of whole cake top like my first try at FBCT. Used spegehtti with BC on it for the web coming out of spidy's hand. Probably can see the crease in the web where the box top fell into the cake. Got it fixed pretty good though.

I frosted the cake with buttercream icing and then drew the spiderman freehand with a toothpick. I outlined him with black buttercream and filled him in with red and blue piping gel.

A customer wanted a spiderman cake but with a vilain too. So I found a picture on Google with the two faces like this, and decided to do it. The cake is half vanilla half chocolate. So it was easy to separate, vanilla under Spiderman and chocolate under the Goblin.

Wanted to try this cake for awhile. Finally had the opportunity and I was so happy with the final result. The viva paper towels really work!!! And using the styrofoam head is a great idea. This web site rocks!
