There is no way I can tell you all that went wrong in this tiny space. Lets just say that 2 hours before delivery the entire bottom tier cracked in half!!

8' & 6' white cakes - buttercream w/fondant accents - bottom layer has oreo filling. Black, hot pink, silver. I handmade the beaded topper with various crystal beads using 18 guage jewelry wire. The cake is sitting on a black shadow box and is filled with hot pink satin and self-adhesive rhinestones. The cake was a big hit!

This is a close-up of the beaded topper I made for the sweet 16 cake in my photos. I used black jewelry wire for the "16" and silver wire for the background decor. Both wires were 18 guage. I used coffee stirrers for the 1st time to support the topper and it worked great! The "16" was very heavy and it made the delivery with no problems.

This was a 25th Wedding Anniversary cake, and the couple's wedding color had been burgundy, so I incorporated the traditional silver with burgundy. This is a 2-layer 10" square cake with white buttercream icing. The rings, bow, and ribbon are fondant. The silver rings and bow loops were dusted with silver luster dust.

I made this display for my Chriopractors office. Fonadant and white chocolate covered, some have sanding sugar and the rest were blasted with Luster dust. There are 32 cookies in this sucker, and it weighted a ton!

Thanks for looking

So I finally got to make a cake. This is my first attempt at a stacked buttercream cake. It was for my SIL. Because I had 2 hours to decorate the cake I baked it the night before and iced and decorated it 2 hours before the birthday dinner. I am totally new at this so I had a lot of trouble with decorating it. She was pleased with it though. The bottom layer is a 12" chocolate cake and the top two cakes are 10" and 8" French Vanilla.

My parents are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this Saturday by going out to dinner with the family and then having a party at their house. I really wanted to do something beautfiul for their cake and this isn't exactly what I had in mind but it's okay I guess. I used royal icing flowers & painted them with luster dust. I think when I do set it up, I may use the fountain underneath just to really draw attention to it... thanks for looking!

I made this cupcake for my dad's friend Jeff's birthday.
He doesn't even know me, and wants to date me to get cupcakes and gumpaste all the time [he loved the gumpaste on the Jeff Gordon hat cake]. Haha.

Cream-colored fondant, decorated in black RI, brushed embroidery flowers, silver dragees. I thought the use of black for the main color was an odd choice but in the end it turned out very striking I think. TFL

This is one of the cakes that I did for my son's teachers. I purchased the fruit cake and covered it in almond icing and fondant, with a cachous/dragees tree. Will do the other one sometime today, it will be similar. Got the ideas from a womans weekly xmas book. Thanks for looking. Merry Christmas

I got carte blanche from the client. She gave me plates and napkins for inspiration. They were black with 50 on them, the 5 blue and the 0 purple. They also had yellow and orange starbursts and dots, and silver ribbon and confetti. So this is what I came up with. I'm hoping she's satisfied, I've never had carte blanche before....

I made this cake after seeing Sweetgurl's Victorian Heart Cake, which I fell in love with. Thank you so much Sweetgurl for your helpful tips and inspiration with the design!!!
I made the flowers with gumpaste. The top is chocolate cake with caramel filling and the bottom is vanilla with strawberry filling. I used buttercream frosting. For the scrolls, I made indentations in the frosting and filled them with clear homemade gel. Then I painted on some silver luster dust and piped around the scroll.

Critique group member: 9" WASC w/nutella. Lattice and numbers in RI, cornelli work in silver piping gel (wished I would have used RI as I found the gel difficult ot work with!). Iced in BC. Had a small BC blowout in the front of the cake an hour before the party and smushed it down (why can't blowouts happen in the back?!). Happy 2008 to all!

I made this cake for my parents' annual New Years Eve Euchre party. The cake is 2 tiers; the bottom tier is a 2 layer 8x2" square vanilla cake with strawberry buttercream filling and the top tier is a 2 layer 6x2" round chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream filling. I used 5 straws to support the top tier. The cake is frosted in buttercream and I used a diamond impression mat on the sides of the cake and inserted gold and silver dragees at each intersection. Black boarders are chocolate buttercream piped on with a round tip. The stars made out of fondant a few days ahead to help harden and was brushed with gold and silver glaze and pearl dust.

I've gotten huge inspiration from many people on this site and I just want to say thank you to all you collectively. This site is amazing! It was a Christmas wedding so stacked packages was the cake theme and their colors were red, white, black and silver. All iced in BC with fondant accents. The bow on top was gumpaste as were the ornaments placed on the bottom level. I actually covered foam balls to make the ornament accents.

A friend of the family wanted me to do this cake after hearing about the cake I did for my SIL's reception. I was so excited and nervous to do an actual Wedding Cake!!! Everyone was pleased with the outcome and I'd love to do another. 14", 12", 10" and 8". 2 layers of choc w/ whipped ganache and 2 layers of white w/ bc. Scrolls are painted with silver luster dust.

My first 'real' wedding cake. Fruit cakes - made by the MOG and were 3 cakes I had to cut and stack into two squares - impossible to get them even hence the cushioning effect which helped disguise it. Ribbons and flowers provided by the family and I made them into bows - a little OTT for my taste but I think they were happy!
