Here is a cake that I saw in one of the yearbooks and thought I just had to try this. This is my first experience with working with fondant. I thought I did OK.

When my soon-to-be 4 yr old daughter saw bekahd's Princess Strawberry Shortcake cake, she knew that is what she wanted. I tried my best but this is how mine came out. Thank goodness she is only 4 and didn't know the difference. She loved it and that is all that matters to me.

This was for a special girl's first birthday. Top layer was all in butter cream so she could dig in. Bottom layer is MF and buttercream.

This was for a girl that had a strawberry shortcake birthday party. She didn't want the character drawn on the cake, so I had to figure out another way to incorporate the theme.

This is a half sheet cake with 10 x 10 cut to make the next two layers. All decorated in buttercream and the mom brought me the kit to use. I thought it turned out cute and hope the little girl likes it.

I volunteered to make the dessert for T. A. day two years ago. Although it was met with rave reviews and some of the teachers asked what bakery it was purchased at, I was disappointed in the way the stablized whipped cream turned out. Yes, it was the first time I made it and I'd like to try again. I know it has something to do with my unflavored gelatin, but not sure where I went wrong and lumpy. Oh well....

My client saw the original on Sugar Shack's website and fell in love with it... Hope I did it justice Sharon! All fondant accents/gumpaste flowers, bows and strawberries. Top - vanilla, bottom chocolate - both with strawberry Italian meringue buttercream filling (what else!) Baby cake was all vailla with vanilla buttercream frosting/filling; also all fondant accents.

Thanks for looking!

I did this cake to look like Strawberry Shortcake's Playhouse for my neice who just turned 3. The bottom is chocolate cake with chocolate strawberry frosting. The "strawberry house" is sour cream pound cake with white chocolate mousse filling (I made a strawberry puree to drizzle on each slice for actual taste of strawberry shortcake). All covered in mmf and decorated with mmf accents. Toy doll on top.

I took all my inspiration from a cake I saw here. This cake was originally supposed to have some more details etc, but I had a little too much fun bowling(read drinking beer)the night before I put it all together. So this is officially known as my hang-over cake. But happily it still turned out ok an dthe birthday girl was tickled :) Its a Swiss chocolate cake with strawberry flavored butter cream and mmf accents.

This is for my daughter's 4th birthday. It took me a LONG time to finish. There were so many colors and it felt like everything kept going wrong. Hopefully she loves it.

I know everyone's probably sick of her by now, but my daughter wanted it and I was dying to try this method. It wasn't too bad, there was a little smudging in some areas, but I was sooo tired I couldn't fix it. But I will definately being doing it again!

I did this cake for my daughter's 2nd birthday party -- it was a Strawberry Shortcake theme. The bottom two tiers were inspired by a cake I saw online, the top tier I designed myself. The tiers were 10 inches, 8 inches and 6 inches -- it was HUGE!!! I obviously got carried away with the size -- I'll have to scale it down next time. The decoration are buttercream with fondant cut outs. It was my first tiered cake ever. Thanks for looking.

This cake is hand sculpted and I also used an inner stand to support the hat. Used a couple layers of fondant. I really should document how I do these because people ask and I really can't say...I just cut until it looks ok and then decorate as I go following a picture. Sometimes they turn out good, other times not. Thanks for looking.

The top of this cake is fondant and the sides are iced with buttercream with fondant strawberries. The flowers on top look incomplete because the mom wanted a place for the candles. I just came across the photo as I actually did this several years ago and thought I would share.

This was THE MOST FUN cake I've done! Bride wanted strawberry shortcake and it didn't matter that the groom hated strawberries! hahaha! Two layer cakes were torted for a total of 4 layers per tier. Top tier iced in basketweave to resemble a basket of strawberries on top. Lessons Learned: Cut strawberries in half to attached to cake, otherwise they keep rolling off. Next Time: Add some kind of pretty decor where the torting shows to make it wedding-pretty.

Ten and eight inch MMF covered yellow and chocolate stacked for my granddaughter because she is crazy about Strawberry Shortcake...I just wanted to do this for her. Both Strawberry Shortcakes are copied on card stock and placed on MMF. The flowers and beads are MMF, the butterflies are copied on Wafer Paper and the strawberry is plastic.
