This is my first attempt at a Gumpaste shoe, I used the instructions from the article here and luster dust. Not the best, but not too shabby for a first try.

Chocolate cake with white chocolate buttercream frosting. I thought it was going to be fighting with flavors, but it was actually really great! A little sweet, but good. This was my first attempt to do anything with gumpaste and first attempt at carving a cake, so they are a little off, but I think they look pretty good for my first try!

I tried to make the cake 3" high but my oven did not cooperate (uneven temperature) so I decided to make 2-2" high cakes and fuse them with frosting. Well this did not work. The cake was so moist that the corners did not want to stay together and 1 broke. So I just made a half pillow. It looked so smooth that a cake decorator thought it was fondant (thanks Viva!). I still need a little work on the impressions. I made the shoe using boonenati's instructions. Thanks Nati!

This was a chocolate mud cake, the customer want it to be 'simple and sweet' with just the booties on the top with the name. I added the extension work at the sides to give it some glam. It was the first time I had actually done extension work ever! Overall I'm pretty happy with this cake

This is a cake I just finished for my cousin in PA, I'm in OH and shipping it tomorrow. It is a replica of her daughter's soccer shoe. This is only the second 3D cake I have covered in fondant...the first one was a wine bottle yesterday (WHEW!!) It was kind of hard to replicate b/c the laces on the real shoe are kind of curve off to the side, but I attempted it. Marble cake (9 x 13) carved, thick layer of B/C then Pettinice. Board covered in fondant and painted with Americolor gel. Tufts of grass are BC

Birthday cake make for a friends birthday. Got all of my ideas from other pictures on this web-site. Thank you all so much for all of the pictures you have posted. All made from fondant. Used Rhonda's Ultimate MMF for the first time and so all of the white and brown are with this fondant. The pink was Wilton fondant. Not a perfect cake but I am sure my girlfriend is going to love it.

First of all, thank you to mkerton for all of her help!! Purse is an 8" round cut in half and frosted with buttercream, decorations on the purse done in fondant. I made a batch of rice krispy treats and used that to form the cell phone and the flip flop. They are both covered in fondant. This is my first time using fondant

This one was for the church too. Everyone wore their pajamas and from what I hear, they had a BLAST! The cake was part of the kick off of the night.

P.S The big red things are fuzzy slippers.

I made this cake for my friends bridal shower. She fell in love with it ! Which made my day. It is white almond sourcream cake with vanilla buttercream/coconut filling and white chocolate fondant. It was my first time using a mold to make the bride and my first time working with foundant to cover a cake. I had to do it in pieces to get the effect I desired. I tried to make a 3-D shoe but I couldn't get the pieces to mold together. Thank you to the CCer's who made similar cakes that inspire this cake.

one and only attempt (so far) of a gumpaste shoe. I think it looks a bit clumsy, but my friend like it and it tasted ok. I hid the sides of the "shoebox" under a ribbon as the icing looked awful.

I made a pattern for the flip flop shoes and cut them from a 14" square cake frosted in buttercream and I used MMFondant for the first time on this cake. I will never use anything else! so easy. used cookie cutters for the flowers and sprinkled with disco glitter for the sparkles..
