Woweee fellow decorators! I have just returned home from the 7pm wedding that I made this cake for. It was my first wedding cake - not perfect but made a good impression. Pound cake with bc and chocolate sea shells. Sand is granulated brown sugar with more chocolate sea shells. Transport was nerve racking. The cake was a 14",10", and 6". The bride cried when she saw it, (tears of joy) so I guess I did okay. Thanks for looking!

Seashell wedding cakes are so popular with my customers, but I was getting bored with my molds. So, I went beachcombing and cast some of my treasures in silicone (I got it from www.jgreer.com). The sea urchin, crabs, mussel and clam shells, and small welks are my favorites! Add a bit of black seaweed (made from Tootsie Rolls tinted black) and all that's missing is the sand!

This cake was a blast and made the client so happy. I took some of the inspiration from the awesome cakes on this website and made it my own! It is a half a sheet on the bottom, double layer with fudge filling. The top is the Wilton wondermold pan, torted with chocolate filling. The rest of the icing is buttercream and the shells are made with white chocolate. I was so happy with her tail which I made out of fondant (after many tries!!!), and coated with pearlshimmer dust. Flounder is also made of fon

I took a class at church (not Wilton I, but using Wilton techniques) and decorating a cake was our "final". I tried to use most of the techniques we learned in class - it was fun! I made a chocolate cake with cookies n cream filling (from this site). I'd like to learn how to make my roses a little tighter and less ruffly, and to make my leaves end in a point, rather than forking. I'll also have to figure out this crumb coat thing, since I still got crumbs in my second coat of icing! Any suggestions?

I made this for a friend's wedding. 16,12,and 8 inch size cakes. Fondant bows, swiss dots, free-handed scroll work and reverse shell border. Lots of time went into planning this cake, and I think that it came out great.

In a rush and wanted to do more, but this cake has to travel 4 hours of a winding drive, through the mountains and got up early to place fondant and finish it. Didn't have time, but I think that if I hand painted something on the sides of the cake it would be quite beautiful. I think that I made the seashell too blue also, I am experimenting with adding color to the shell.

Mini 3.5" x 3.5". White cake w/ BC filling and icing. White chocolate shells dusted with luster dusts. Made this for my son's preschool teacher. When I dropped it off, she said.."Today is my birthday!!". I had no idea, so I was thrilled that she'd have a treat for herself :) Thanks for looking.

I'm just learning, and wanted to practice roses. This was my first attempt. Decorating smaller cakes is often harder than the larger ones!

This small wedding cake (8" and 6") is covered in fondant, GP flowers and white chocolate shells with luster dust. (Cake was lemon with vanilla BC icing). Thanks for looking. It's the first time I ever trimmed the edges of the cake to round them.

This cake was made for a guy's 50th Birthday Bash. Obviously, it was a Hawaiian Themed Party! I got the idea from a Debbie Brown book and just embellished it a bit.

Mostly MMF, chocolate shells, graham cracker sand. Love details...after Bruce sat for a week-filled him with Al foil, wood grain sign, #2, candles. 13.5" oval base and way TOO high wave 5
x?9" dowelled like crazy for 1 hour transport. I especially LOVED brendaannes' "finding nemo" cake--THANKS! and Vmoore's amazing waves. Thanks for the inspiration and then I have some original stuff on there:)

Here, finally is the cake for my daughter's bridal shower. Base cake is 16"x16" white almond sour cream cake, with creme filling and almond flavored (Toba's) buttercream icing. The sea shell is pineapple yellow cake with fondant covering (was supposed to look like a real shell), with buttercream roses. This was my first very big cake - made lots of mistakes in the process, and realized I really do need to practice alot more as what I pictured in my mind was not totally realized here.

A local school sorority asked me to do a 1/2 sheet cake for a dinner that they were having. It is a basic yellow cake with buttercream frosting and fondant accents, flowers, and letters. It was my first tme doing ribbon roses, and I must say that I do like them! It was also my first time doing the reverse shell border on a cake (other than for practice!). I did the bottom border with tip 21 and the top with tip 16, I think it came out fairly well.

This was my final cake for Wilton cake course 3. I don't really like it that much because I had a different vision then how it actually turned out but it was good practice. The bassinet is made out of fondant and royal frosting.

Buttercream with fondant accents! I borrowed the idea from CC. I wish I could remember who posted it. I made this cake for my Niece's baby's first birthday! Not perfect, but she probably won't notice :)

No, I did not bake this one, but was supplied by the caterer. However, I did do the chocolate shells and coral and, with the help of the groom's mom, we decorated the cake just before the cocktail hour (baker wanted another $300 to make chocolates and decorate with them). The shell on the top of the cake is a real one however. Thought it would be fun to show this, even though I did not bake it. Think it looks pretty neat!

Ugh, wanted to cry stressing about this one. The bride wanted the entire cake edible so I couldn't make the towers out of anything but cake. The notched out part on each turret is made of rice crispy treat and dipped in the cookie crumbs. I iced the whole thing in b/c and crumbed in Nilla Wafers. I transported it mostly assembled but put the details on there. The topper was provided by the bride and is blown glass seahorses. The top cake is a sandcastle bundt cake dipped in crumbs (no icing).
