Buttercream (ok, ok, a can of store-bought frosting) with Fondant accents. This was my first time using fondant, and I like the way it turned out. I just wish I had smoothed out the BC some more. White Sour cream almond cake recipe from this site, it was SO good!

Figures were made from gumpaste (started with rice crispy treats the covered). This was my first attempt at figures....wasn't real happy with zoey but I guess practice makes perfect next time.

12 inch round buttercream with Elmo FBCT - my very first! I wanted Elmo to have fur so I spruced him up with a grass tip. Writing the name in the mirror image was the toughest part of the cake, but it was lots of fun to make!

This is a birthday cake I made for a good friend's son's second birthday. He's really into Elmo and Sesame Street, so this cake is supposed to replicate the "stoop" on Sesame Street with Elmo sitting on the steps. It's a pound cake with buttercream icing. Elmo, the doors, steps, and exterior around the door are all marshmallow fondant. Also, on the back I added the Boston Red Sox logo because his mom is a big, big fan.

A cake made for my Daughter's First Birthday...she loves Sesame Street so I took a shot at making Zoe - I think the cake would of looked better without Zoe, but my husband insisted she stay since I took so long to make her! Covered in mmf, I also made a smash cake covered in bc for my baby! FYI: The "B" is for my daughter's first name.

A half vanilla, half chocolate sheet cake with Buttercream frosting. Elmo is made from RKT and covered in MMF. I was quite pleased with the way this turned out. Grace's mother is also buying a "grocery Store" cake and I can't wait to see what this one and that one look like side by side. Oh, I'll be taking pictures....

Mainly buttercream (some fondant on the Count). Used quite a few candies.... Jordan almonds (Bert's nose), gumballs (Grover's eyes), M&Ms (some of the eyes), and peanut M&Ms (Ernie's nose). Big Bird's beak = candy melts. Many of the mouths are half-Oreos.

This cake was SUPPOSED to have little white flowers in the green squares, and also as borders. But (as usual for me) I ran out of time! So had to do frenzied, piped borders with fantic, shaking hands. AAAARGH! Oh, well. Figures are fondant/gumpaste combo. Sign is candy melts. Inspired by many of the cool Seasame Street and kitty cat cakes on Cake Central!
