Cake was done for a neighbor who requested the Count for her hubby's birthday. All iced in buttercream on a chocolate butter cake. Colors were much better in person, as he looks a little brown in the photos. His skin was actually a mauvish color... This was my first paid cake. Everyone was very happy with it, I was even paid more than what I quoted :D

This is a 3 D cake. Used the Wilton Teddy Bear Cake Pan and sculpted it a bit. Blue Fur piped in Buttercream, and all else covered in fondant. My grandson's first birthday party.

My son loves Sesame Street so I had to do that for the theme of his second birthday party. I did a large central cake with the SS logo. Around the logo I wrote "From all your friends on Sesame Street...Happy 2nd Birthday Mason!!" I made cupcakes of every character on Sesame Street and placed them around the cake. I also made little cards with the characters names and pictures so people knew who they were. My son loved ALL of them!! He was so excited!

Big Bird cake done for a friend's daughter's first birthday. Used a party hat to cover the top of cake instead of using icing. My second attempt at cake decorating.

This is the smash cake I did for a friend's daughter's first birthday. I was inspired by the cake from another member from this site. Matched the Sesame Street/Big Bird theme for the party.

I know...another boring character cake. This one is yellow cake with strawberry filling, buttercream frosting. Hand-painted trashcan with light and dark silver luster dust. I'm working on more creative cakes! -Just give me time...(and an occasion to try something fancier!) HA HA

I did this cake for a friend's little girl turning 2. The party is Elmo/Ooopsy the clown. Cake is white almond sour cream, icing faux fondant II. Dorothy, name sign, and Ooopsy are frozen buttercream transfers. Elmo is a cookie inspired by ChicosMom. He is 5 cookies iced in same icing as cake. Each cookie is on stick. The fish bowl idea is from Woman's Day magazine, I just adapted it to elmo (Nerds for rocks, fruit roll-up plants). Ooopsy is her little smash cake. Thanks for looking!

This was for my son's 2nd birthday, who loves Sesame Street and Elmo. I got the idea for the Skittles around the border from another Sesame Street cake on Cake Central, which I thought was fun and whimsical!

This was an Elmo cake that I airbrushed. It was so much better then red icing. It had no bitter taste and didn't stain like the red icing does.

This is based on the Little People playhouse of the 60s. It's a 4 layer chocolate (8x8) cake with choco buttercream and graham crackers, and graham sticks. Very fun and the birthday girl's mom loved it

Yeah, it's finally done!! I was having anxiety about doing this cake. I did the test Elmo and he came out great. But, when I did the final one, oh boy. I made the bottom cake it sat on too small. I was stressing out if I could still make it work. Everything went ok and it made it to the party ok up six flights of stairs (there was no elevator). I learned a lot with this cake. Thanks for looking and thanks to Swe3ts and lilrev for the help and directions.

This is my back up plan for an 3-D Elmo cake I have to make. If I can't get the Elmo to sit up without looking like he's been beat up, then I'll just use these chocolate designs around the cake! LOL. This is only my second time working with chocolate floodwork. It is definitely time consuming to do so much detailed work, but like I said, if the 3-D thing doesn't happen for me, I've got these chocolate babies to fall back on!

Ok, if a customer were to ask me to make this cake, I would charge $30,000.00. Yes, as in THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS. Spell it with me....N E V E R A G A I N!! Everything is eatable except for the head which is a styrofoam ball. I used fondant, marshmellows, toothpicks and chocolate flooded decorations. The bottom is a 14" round chocolate cake. Took me four days to make Elmo. This cake was a gift for a close friend's nephew.

Hi all! This was for my son's 2nd birthday. Elmo is from the Wilton pan and is all buttercream. I carved the Sesame St sign out of a 9 inch square cake and iced in buttercream as well to match the famous sign. The cupcakes were inspired by a posting from bkrmama and I found the Ernie cupcakes on a Sesame St site. Look for a close up of the cupcakes too.

These cupcakes were inspired by a posting from bkrmama and I found the Ernie cupcakes on a Sesame Street site. I had these for my son's party and then made more (plus Elmo) for my son's daycare class. The kids all started shouting out the character names! These were REALLY easy and quick to make. About an hour for 26 or so. I had all the colors ready. The eyes are marshmallows with a dot of dark chocolate or black frosting. All the rest is tinted buttercream (except Big Bird's beak). Enjoy!

A Sesame Street bday cake I did for my daughter's 2nd birthday this past weekend. I really had alot of fun making the characters. If only I hadn't run out of time the day of the party to really focus on the cake itself! A fun project nevertheless.
